About Loves

Loves is a quaint but full of energy bar with a lovely art deco style, described as a little living room for the community. The atmosphere is always fun, especially on weekend karaoke nights, which start at 9 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 8 PM on Sundays. The sound system is great, and the singers are generally phenomenal, making it a place where talent is celebrated, though it can be intimidating to get on stage. The crowd and crew are great, and the bar is very small and cute.

The staff are friendly, kind, funny, attentive, and fun. They are also welcoming and sponsor various leagues and organizations across the city. The bartenders and bar backs are very friendly. The DJ works hard to make a great mix for karaoke and keeps the vibe upbeat and fun. However, on busy karaoke nights, the wait to sing can be very long, sometimes up to two hours. The DJ uses Venmo tip placards, and showing a receipt can move someone up the list. The crowd inside can get so thick it is hard to get a drink, find a seat, or walk around, so arriving early is advised on Fridays and Saturdays.

The liquor drinks pour heavy. They also offer non-alcoholic drinks, like THC drinks. The Moscow mule is delicious. The music is bumping. The bar will be opening a new place at the old Berlin soon. Overall, it is a very welcoming place where people are nice.

I will never spend money at an establishment that practices or tolerates any kind if discrimination, banning someone because they seem (this is a quote from the bartender) “so autistic that he couldn’t, not, cause problems” for simply returning someone’s phone to it’s rightful owner is discriminatory and disgusting. This should be investigated by the Illinois liquor control commission for discriminatory and unethical business practices!

Discriminatory bartenders who think it's okay to be cruel to customers are disgusting and shouldn't be working in the service industry if they're going to be like that.

Mean bartenders who discriminate against invisible disabilities. All are not welcome. Stay away from this ableist establishment
