Cafe Tola #2 Reviews
Great chicken mole empanadas, just was in Mexico, so their cafe con leche came in a distant 4th to what I had in Mexico.
Great empanadas and lattes. The black bean plantain is a go-to of mine, as well as the chicken tinga. My kids regularly order the nutella banana empanada and ask to go back often.
Great empanadas but what isn't great deep fried. Grilled veggie taco was carrots, cauliflower broccoli tossed in a flour tortilla with nothing else. Worst veggie taco in the city. The other tacos were great.

Cafe Tola #2 is a popular spot in Chicago for Mexican empanadas. It offers a large selection of hot and ready empanadas, served quickly by friendly staff. Customers often enjoy the flavorful and fresh empanadas, which are considered some of the best in Chicago. The restaurant also serves tacos, burritos, and pozole soup, all at affordable prices. While the quality and taste are highly praised, some customers have mentioned that prices have slightly increased. A few reviews note that the music can be too loud and that they sometimes run out of many options before 10:30 am. Despite this, visitors consistently leave satisfied, enjoying the outstanding flavors and colorful, unique atmosphere of the place.
