Great chicken mole empanadas, just was in Mexico, so their cafe con leche came in a distant 4th to what I had in Mexico.

Overall a good experience, but the vegetarian options are confusing. if eating vegetarian or vegan skip the veggie taco, it’s a confusing mixed veggies blend (squash, cauliflower, bell pepper, carrot? etc) lightly seasoned in a tortilla, but the Vegetarian empanadas are actually good and made with fresh and seasoned ingredients. The vegan sirloin is amazing, I just wish it was offered as a taco option :/

Cafe Tola offers fantastic food and incredibly friendly staff. The empanadas are well made and flavourful, with the chicken tinga, chorizo egg, guava, and birria empanadas being favorites. The horchata latte is amazing, and the dulche de leche latte is also highly recommended. The pinto beans empanada was delicious and surprisingly spicy. The interior is small, a bit sad, and mediocre, but the atmosphere and graffiti art are great. The service is exceptional, with helpful and patient staff providing great recommendations. The food is a good portion and easy to grab for a quick snack or light meal. Cafe Tola is one of the highlights of a trip and definitely worth a stop.
