“I went to Chicago for my niece’s graduation, and then my sister, brother in law and I went to one of his favorite spots.
We drove to El Cubanito in Logan Square.
This spot is a neighborhood staple, & had been there for years.
Not gonna lie, I was super excited to try out some good (dare I say GREAT) Cuban food. Y’all, this place did NOT disappoint!!I ordered the Steak Cubanito ($8.35). I can’t tell you the spices that made up this sammy, but I can tell you I had to cross my legs once I bit into it! Portion size was excellent and filling. The steak was tender, hot and delicious. My only regret is that I can’t get another! I ordered the can of soda ($2) because it was unfamiliar to me.
Sodas aren’t typically my thing, and this one was no exception as it had an aftertaste that reminded me of some kind of artificial sweetener.
The plantains were excellent!
I rated service a “4” because you order at the register and they call you to come pick it up. I rated Atmosphere a “4” because it’s a true local spot, not upity and not scary.“

“I came because I was craving hot chocolate but also wanted a good meal - this place was great. Staff was extremely kind. Cozy atmosphere. I ordered the Ropa Vieja, and the flavor was good - i recommend it for someone who is sensitive to strong flavors. The hot chocolate hit the spot, rich and flavorful. Will definitely visit again.“

“Outstanding! The namesake sandwich, the Cubano, was outstanding…ample and delicious. You’ve got to try their plantain! It’s the best I’ve ever had…sweet, thick sliced, yummy, cooked to perfection and lots of it! Compliments to my server, Kenia, too. She was great. I highly recommend Sazon Cubano.“

“I have tried most of the Cuban restaurants in and around Chicago and this is the best for authentic Cuban food and consistency. I find the BYOB a real plus. The only problem is the hours are short if you want to go out for dinner. Almost impossible if you are a working person to get to the restaurant before closing. Even weekends are a problem. The quality of the food makes it my favorite place to go to eat the best Cuban food.“

“Hidden little gem in the heart of the loop off of Michigan ave, really kind staff. The pros: this place has a dedicated vegan menu that tells you what’s in everything. My vegan pan con bistec honestly left a lot to be desired, very little flavor or seasoning, the sandwich is also very small for $15. The $17 plates are Much more food, I’d come back and try the salsichon platillo. Very good little grab-a-bite place, either to go or to eat in.“

“This small and authentic eatery served exzellent sandwiches for a fair prize. We were here for the first time and felt comfortable and welcome from the beginning till the end. We will take those memories back to our home town Berlin (Germany). Muchas gracias. :)“
“We were here a couple of years ago and planning on going hopefully this weekend (I'm from Chicago but live overseas for work). The food was amazing and the atmosphere, music, dancing was a lot of fun and not where you felt you were being picked up or come on to all the time...it was a nice place. Can't wait to go again.“

“Intimate setting with great staff who are always welcoming and warm. Their cocktails aren’t just thrown together; they take weeks to perfect their recipes with the final product being works of art. Their Old Fashioned is my favorite so far and the mango shrimp is my favorite entree. Their lavender/mint tea latte is unique, luscious and calming. Save room for Diego’s homemade desserts, they are luscious! Great food, great cocktails, great staff, great ambiance.“
