Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea Reviews
True coffeeshop: Tons of different people in and out, plenty of space to work, lots of space. Friendly baristas and a great local coffee selection.
Food was decent (tasty but expensive) but the matcha was awful. Basically just slightly flavoured milk for $7.
The decaf mocha was good, the doughnuts were good, and the chocolate croissant was very unique (and good). It would have been better slightly warmed, but I didn't think to ask for that.

Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea is a highly recommended coffee shop in Chicago, known for its variety of coffee cremes and espresso. The staff is friendly, and the ambiance is enjoyable, making it a great spot to start a day of sightseeing. The drinks are made quickly and at the perfect temperature. The latte is described as okay, with a suggestion to try the iced coffee. There is ample space to enjoy drinks with friends or family.
Fairgrounds is a favorite among University of Chicago students, who can stay there all day for working, learning, and reading. The coffee is described as pretty good, with different options provided. However, the place is considered expensive, and some customers have noted issues with service, such as a new employee who seemed to struggle with basic tasks like taking orders or disposing of trash. Despite these minor complaints, the overall atmosphere and quality of the coffee are praised by customers.
