The ambiance may be lacking, but the food is well worth visiting. This is one of the last Chinatown take outs from the 80's, a total locals joint. Consistent food quality is the key here, with family favorites like fried chicken wings with salt and pepper, white chicken with onion gravy over rice, minced beef and rice, and chicken and peppers in black bean sauce over rice noodles. Customers also enjoy the yang chow fried rice and curry chicken over rice. The salt and pepper pork chop over rice is a signature dish, with a perfect crispy bite and juicy tenderness inside. Other popular items include ginger scallion chicken over rice, spare rib over rice, and Mongolian beef over rice. Though the atmosphere is not modern or trendy, Gourmet Food offers good food, quick service, and great value.
