This place is amazing. The owners are the best kind of people ever. The food is top notch, completely home made down to the chips, and the entire menu is gluten free. The drinks are probably too good. They have Mrs Pacman and play the best music ever. I can't visit often enough!

Kite String is a bar in Chicago with great vibes, good drinks, and a fun atmosphere. The food includes excellent chicken taquitos that are gluten-free, with fresh ingredients and not overly oily. There are also two vegan taquitos options: one with seitan and another with beet tortilla and butternut squash filling. The house nacho cheese is vegan and unreal. A full jar of vegan queso is served by default. Drinks are good and decently priced, specializing in Mexican booze like mezcal, beer, and tequila. The service can miss the mark; some staff did not greet guests or offer menus, and the atmosphere felt cold on a warm spring day. However, other reviews note friendly and fun staff, great service, and lovely people. Events include a super fun trivia night, metal horror bingo on Tuesdays, and films. The music is a mix of goth, Post-Punk, 80s, shoegaze, indie, metal, and trip-hop. The taquitos are a touch high in price, but it is a minor complaint.
