I came here in December with a motley crew. The Christmastime decorations were so amazing that I forgot about my crippling anxiety and depression for a few hours and my queer friends allowed the very straight vibe of this place. We got drunk and then we went down the block to Fry the Coop.
Small but mighty. Have loved this place in all its incarnations for let’s just say many many years. The bartenders know what they’re doing (I’ve been drinking for many many years) and if that’s not enough the everything-else is great too. Try to get a spot at the bar, but if you fail, other options are covered heated outside - pretty good too. Come with a small crew. It is named Matchbox for a reason.

Love this place. Tho this is new - here's to 30% being the new 15%. Really?? Seems pretty greedy. Maybe because of the conversion away from cash and the bartenders have a bigger tax bill? Or, um, maybe just off the rails? Or I'm a jerk for thinking $5 for 2 drinks and a bag of chips is good.
