Spectacular establishment run by a dynamic duo, a husband wife team that is bringing a real Jewish deli with a strong family feel to Ohio Street & La Salle.
Brilliant house cured gravlax on Once Upon A Bagel. Fabulous made in house pastrami & corned beef. Egg salad, you name it.

I was there today for lunch and had the corn beef burger . It’s served with Swiss cheese and onions on a warm onion roll. This average looking sandwich (normal portion for a human) packs so much flavor. Juicy and balanced with just the right amount of fat. It may have become my go to burger!
I can’t say how the atmosphere is because I have never been inside but I have to write a review of how AMAZING THE OWNER IS!
I was in Chicago for five days and then my friend got sick and she’s been stuck in the hotel for four days and I had to go home and she had no means of getting any food.
I tried to order it for delivery to her hotel but the delivery people stop at 2:30 and would not deliver it.

Based on the reviews, Schneider Deli River North is a great restaurant with a very cozy coffee shop vibe and a warm, inviting, and comfortable ambiance. The interior is very small, but the vibe is great for a weekday lunch. The food is good, with really good deli options for pastrami or corned beef. Specific meals mentioned include the breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese, the bacon, egg & cheese on everything bagel, the corned beef sandwich, pastrami sandwich, egg salad, and a Chicago hotdog topped with corned beef. The food came when it was ready rather than all together. The staff and waitstaff are nice, friendly, and attentive. The pickle given wasn’t a favorite as it tasted like a very light salt brine. Parking is a little bit tricky, located in the parking lot of a motel. One star removed for not offering a Reuben/Russian dressing for dipping sandwiches.
