Taquería El Jardín is a convenience store with a tiny restaurant in the back serving incredibly old school delicious authentic Mexican food, and it has tricked out Matcha drinks. Family owned and run. They went viral for their matcha, RIGHTFULLY SO, but the asada meat is some of the best and most flavorful at a taqueria. The steak (Asada) killed it. The carne asada is off the chart. The best basic burrito in Chicago. Get the asada burrito with everything and add avocado. The tripe taco was equally delicious and well marinated. The Chorizo was the favorite. The Taco Dinner is fantastic. There is also a banana cream cold brew. The atmosphere is excellent. The owners and their children are always so nice. There was no wait, but the level of quality is worth waiting for. It is a small space, so plan accordingly.
