Perfect Chicago neighborhood bar. Family owners and the staff is the best. Bring your dog here for treats. Can’t wait to get a super comfy t shirt to drink Guinness in.
The low hum of conversation was pleasant. Found a table right away on a Tuesday afternoon, no problem at all. Service was quick and friendly. A pretty relaxed stop for a drink while I was in town for work.
I was waiting to catch a Metra train and came across the Booze Hound and decided to grab a quick beer. So glad I did! Instantly greeted by two very friendly bartenders, it’s such a welcoming neighborhood vibe that I was so sad to leave when I had to catch my train lol can’t wait to return!

The Booze Hound is a hometown bar where the staff and customers are welcoming, making it a cheers bar. It is a top-notch Chicago dive bar that allows dogs inside, with a server who takes great pride in her work. Located near the Grayland Metra station, it offers a variety of drinks at good prices, including $3 PBR, surrounded by cool sports memorabilia. The atmosphere is classic and old-fashioned, with a unique charm that captures the essence of Chicago. The bar is known for its collection of sports memorabilia and random items, making it a great spot for sports fans. While there is no food available, the bar is a popular choice for those looking to enjoy a drink and appreciate the nostalgic feel of the place. Many customers love the friendly vibe, describing it as a great option before or after a Cubs game. However, some have expressed concerns about a negative experience with a regular, which may impact the overall welcoming atmosphere. Despite this, most agree that the friendly interactions and the presence of dogs make it a special dive bar worth visiting.
