The Florian at Lyric Opera Reviews
Colin was an outstanding waiter-very attentive! The food was excellent! The intermission dessert is a genius idea and it was waiting for us at our table. Anyone going to a show there should eat dinner there for not only the convenience but the excellent food!
I guess my expectations were too high based on the prices we paid. Drinks are good. Prime rib dinner ($67!) was served cold. Lamb was tough ($57!). It's sad they demand $25 non-refundable deposit per person. They also charge an automatic 21% service charge no matter party size and then asked for more gratuity on the check. Service was spotty. It took the server 2 times to get check correct and was still wrong but prices were right so paid it.
Food is excellent. Loved the salmon and soup. Definitely recommend even if it is a little pricey. Service was excellent as well with the staff providing drink refills without asking and being nicely attentive.

The Florian at Lyric Opera is a convenient and reasonably priced dining option for those attending performances at the Lyric Opera House. Located on the dress circle level, this lounge and bar offers a limited but satisfying lunch menu.
Reviewers have praised the generous charcuterie plate, which includes a variety of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments, as well as the warm, crusty bread and artichoke butter. The desserts, such as the strawberry custard pastry and lemon meringue tart, have received mixed reviews, with the pastry described as flaky but with a scant filling.
The Florian's decor is described as a "secret boudoir" with historic ballets projected on the screens and small cafe tables with banquettes, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere.
The convenience of being able to dine in the same building as the Lyric Opera is one of the primary reasons to choose The Florian. Reviewers have noted that the ability to order snacks and drinks in advance and have them waiting at their table is a delightful feature. The service has been praised as prompt and attentive, even when a reservation had to be canceled.
While the food is generally considered good to above average, with highlights such as the prime rib, sauce, and mashed potatoes, there have been some low points, such as the under-seasoned mushrooms. The starter salad, however, was a surprising high point, with its perfect seasoning and interesting textures and flavors.
Overall, The Florian is a solid choice for those attending performances at the Lyric Opera, providing a convenient and reasonably priced dining experience, with a cozy atmosphere and generally good food.
