Not sure why some of the reviews are mixed - we went during restaurant week and had an outstanding experience. Delicious food, excellent service, and clean/COVID friendly. Highly recommend.

SANCTUARY is a unique and upscale Indian restaurant in River North, standing out from the area's cookie-cutter spots. It is described as a hidden gem and an exciting cocktail den with outstanding, unbelievable aesthetics. The decor is fun, creative, and out of this world, featuring lounge areas and faux fire tables for a swanky, fun night out with a feminine energy.
The food is incredible, amazing, spectacular, and exceptional. Must-order dishes include the fantastic blackened chili tamarind ribs, which are fall-off-the-bone, well-spiced, and perfectly cooked, and Deli’s butter chicken, which is tender and classic on fluffy rice. Other highlights are the all American mac and cheese, sinaloa shrimp aguachile, bread pudding, dosa, and the Mediterranean platter with red pepper hummus. The service is also exceptional, with staff described as warm, welcoming, friendly, attentive, pleasant, and divine.
It is a great place for an after-theater stop for empanadas and drinks. While the drink menu is limited, the bartenders can make nice substitutions, including amazing Bollywood item drinks and cocktails like the LSD gin cocktail. The overall experience is highly recommended, making it a must-visit spot.
