He soon discovered that customers didn't want salads as much as they wanted good burgers. Today, Thomas' Wendy's still ranks third in the fast-food industry behind McDonald's and Burger King but he has a sold niche in the market 7,106 locations, including 27 in the Chicago area. The closest to my home is firmly entrenched at 2312 North Ashland Avenue, at Medill, at the busy intersection of Ashland, Clybourn and Fullerton, west of DePaul University, in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a convenient drive-through, its most popular items are chicken nuggets, Dave's classic double burger, Wendy's signature Baconator and Frostys. Wendy's is big on bacon. The Baconator consists of a half-pound of fresh beef, American cheese, six pieces of Applewood smoked bacon, ketchup and mayo. My doctor says I shouldn't eat bacon, ham or grapefruit. So I prefer Dave's Double with a half-pound of fresh square-shaped beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mayo and onion on a toasted bun. Or a Double Stack with two fresh beef patties, American cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles and onion. With natural cut, skin on, sea salted fries, strawberry lemonade or Barq's root beer and a classic chocolate Frosty. For breakfast, a sausage, egg and Swiss cheese croissant always hits the spot.“

“I’ve read some of the negative reviews… I can only speak for my experience late night. Coming back late at night from work. I’ve stopped now twice at the drive-through. The first time I just wanted something quick and easy so I could get back on the road. I was not expecting much, probably just your average greasy half smashed poorly made late night burger from a fast food chain. I was totally wrong! The burger was made fast, and honestly, I was expecting my original first thoughts… But when I opened the bag, it was a freshly made burger. The bun was not smashed at all, The meat was still hot, all the vegetables were cold and crisp. And the burger was constructed perfectly (and when I say constructed perfectly, I mean like it looked like it was in an ad in a magazine or on television!!!) with the precise right amounts of condiments! Also, it was wrapped neatly and with care! Somebody was taking pride in their work!! … The next night I happen to be passing by at the same time (1a.m.) And I decided to see if it was a fluke the night before. I placed the exact same order, I received exactly the same thing as the night before a perfectly made Burger!!
Just for clarification I don’t normally do this… I’m not a guy that writes reviews. Man I gotta give credit where credit is due!! Whoever owns this franchise, you need to thank your late night drive-through team! They are on point!“

“I'd give more stars for service and quality but with the way inflation is going I almost had to give 4 stars, I'd rather Wendy's get the credit they deserve while my star budget exists. Who knows by this time next year we'll all be on the streets huddled around barrels of burning garbage while we fight each other to the death for the last of the review rating stars, children will be neglected, pets will be eaten and gang leaders will be stripped of all the stars they represent. All star games will be canceled and will never be aloud to use the name star ever again. The star spangled banner will be erased from all the Playlists on everyone's music library , even from juke boxes , no matter how much money you put in, no matter how much you beg you will never hear the star spangled banner again.

Kid-friendliness: The kids in the restaurant were not very friendly, I speak a little Spanish myself and I'm pretty sure one told his mom to shut up“

“This was my 1st time visiting this location. The service was great. Surprisingly, there were no charges for lectures and tomatoes on our sandwich. The food was hot and fresh.

Parking: The price above was because we had a coupon for buying a sandwich and receiving one free.“

“Trying to eat better so I had the apple pecan salad, which I never had. Had to repeat my order 3 times at window. It was pretty good, the lettuce was green, not the usual non-nutritious, pale iceberg lettuce. Missing croutons which would have made it better. Overall good salad. Also, had a frosty.“

“My first time going to this particular location and I really don’t have too many complaints except for one. The food was hot, correct, the cashier decent, the drive thru fasts, the place was clean but the wait inside the restaurant and no lie was extremely long.“

“The best Wendy’s I’ve ever been to. Staff is extremely cordial and the service is quick. I normally don’t review large chain fast food restaurants, but I had to give credit where it’s due. Not many places are like this specific location. Keep up the amazing work!“

“I'm currently waiting for my pick-up order here on New Year's Eve at 2am, and after a year of ordering Wendy's at pretty much only 12am, I gotta say that this team is full of pros. The food is always what I'd want and expect from Wendy's, and these guys are rummaging through like 30 receipts (dine-in, pick-up, delivery) at the counter and still pumping food out crazy fast. I have nothing but respect for the employees here and wish them the best in the new year!“

“My name is Sharon I just left from Wendy's on 98 western I'm on a walker I was trying to get food lobby closed when I asked the lady at drive though she said in a nasty manner lobby closed I asked why she said no one came in then I asked for manager numbersshe said she doesn't have it and slammed the window I felt bad and embarrassed I couldn't get her name but the time was 3:30“

“I really like this Wendy's. It's right off the blue line. I went in last night to a sign on the door to place your order on the kiosk. I wanted to pay with my phone, and the kiosk doesn't accept that form of payment. So you have to place your order and hit pay with cash then a staff member will come up and take my payment. As I was standing there no more than 3 min. 2 people came to the counter and asked for help or asked to order with the staff . The staff is friendly and quick. I have always had fresh food.“

“My ravenous little wolf pups and I were craving some Wendy's, so we flipped a non-silver coin and decided to give this location another chance. From previous experience, I have determined that this Wendy's is either hit or miss (lots of misses), but today, fortune, which favors the bold, smiled upon us, and it turned out to be a decent day.

Ordered a Dave's Double meal through the drive-thru and several fries and JBC's for my little howling demons. Had to transfer my Dr Pepper to a shallow bowl to lap it up, as drinking liquid through a straw with a spooky dog mouth is quite difficult, but the Dr Pepper was crisp and refreshing. The fries were a bit stale, dry, and not even warm, but the burgers were at least good.

The Dave's Double burger was well-made and ready to burst apart from the abundance of patties, cheese, pickles, onions, lettuce, tomato, and condiments. It was a delicious, dripping mess that left my muzzle and claws coated with burger juices. The pups enjoyed their JBC's. It had nice crispy bacon and nice crunchy lettuce that gave the burgers a nice snap and crunch with every bite, almost like munching on a femur bone.

Overall, one of our better experiences ordering from this location, and perhaps in the future, we'll give it another non-silver coin toss to determine if we indulge from here again. Cheers!

“Not only is this establishment incredibly clean, the employees communicate really well but Alex, the manager, is exceptionally genuine and nice in a way that's unexpected from any business. On top of all of this he has a sense of humor.

Best Wendy's, mostly cause of Alex.

P.S. He also does all of this while having to deal with the Lane Tech high school kid lunch rush.“

“Went through the drive-thru on my way to work. I got a sausage egg and cheese sandwich with potato wedges and a drink. The drive-thru was fast and efficient. When I got to work, the food was still hot. The potatoes were highly seasoned for me. Definitely will go back.“

“I came to this Wendy’s after leaving another one because they didn’t have potatoes. Got here & waited just to be told no potatoes again. I still ordered because I had sat in the line for awhile. After reaching the second window I asked for a manager and I introduced myself to the manager Cody & asked him why I wasn’t able to receive a potato and why it happens every-time I come to this location as well, he responded but MADE SURE I GOT MY POTATO! The wait was 30 mins but I appreciate him so much because HE MADE MY NIGHT! Especially as a pregnant woman CRAVING a Wendy’s potato. So many other places I could have went here in Chicago but I chose Wendy’s! It’s sad because the Ashland location and this location never have them, exactly why I stopped coming here all in all. But since I’ve been pregnant the cravings have increased . I thank you Corey ! Especially being a general manager myself in fast food , I expect things like this. Even though he is just a regular manager , He is the only reason I will ever think about maybe coming back to Wendy’s. Find more managers like him, if I had gotten my receipt I would have did the Wendy’s online survey but with no receipt I couldn’t. That’s why I’m here. The wonderful lady at the counter was so friendly and helpful since I had my hands full with a toddler & a baby in a car seat. I wish I got her name because she was really amazing and you can tell she was a hard worker and had great customer service. There are plenty of tables and seating areas inside this location and they had screens where you can order for yourself also if needed.“
