Depends on what kind of bar you like. But for a tiny, quiet and quaint little neighborhood bar, this place fits that niche. Maria (owner) served us and couldn't have been a better bartender/host/owner. Great for sports games or just a nice place to grab a drink with a buddy and relax!Thanks Maria❤️
The best dive bar in Chicago. When you first walk into Whirlaway you will be transported back to the late 70's, this is intentional. The owner Maria, a local family favorite, has taken extra care to preserve the original refrigeration system, the long solid wood bar, and the feel of sliding into a special place after a long day of work. Stopped by after a performance at the Stan Mansion. Very cozy and friendly. Wished they had some beer on draft but they have an extensive list of bottles and cans, many unique or hard to find. Clean men's room too. Patrons were quiet and respectful of everybody. Will go back.
