“Where do we even begin?? Gloria, her family and the entire Lavender Crest team that run this facility are just amazing! We held our wedding and reception here a couple of weeks ago and there are no words to express how happy and grateful we are for this! From the very beginning, Gloria and Lavender Crest were super friendly, flexible, timely, informative, patient, and so easy to work with! They were willing to meet with us anytime we had questions or let us stop in anytime we needed to if we needed measurements or to check out anything. Very responsive when we would email questions or information for the wedding over. The venue itself is so gorgeous with the grape vines and the gazebo and the flower berm! We didn’t even have to leave the venue to go take pictures. We did our ceremony out by the flower berm and the arch and the pictures that are coming back with all the flowers in bloom are stunning! The cocktail hour and reception were inside and just as nice! They have a cute cafe/bar area that guests could meander through and then the reception hall was right next to it and just so pretty! They pretty much let you decorate it with anything and everything you want to. If there was anything we weren’t sure on they were willing to help with suggestions! The food was exceptional! We did the buffet style and we had so many people tell us how good the food was. If you can swing it we highly recommend the prime rib carving station! That was probably one of the best prime ribs I’ve had in a long time. I need someone I know to have a wedding there so I can have that prime rib again haha! And also, a surprise wildcard…the seafood lasagna rollups! They had this at the food tasting and we never would have given it a glance if it hadn’t been there. It was so incredibly good! They also have different options for the bar. We just decided to do all items open bar and it was very reasonably priced! And so worth it…the wine is fantastic! I heard a couple people say they were going to pick up a couple bottles from the gift shop. But overall the pricing for everything is very reasonable! That being said I am sure there is something we left out but thank you Lavender Crest and Gloria so much for truly making this one of the happiest days of our lives and we can’t wait to get back there for our anniversary or even just a weekend lunch and wine tasting!”

(No idea what Chaii is going on about in his review 3 years ago, we’ve carried out from here 3 times in two weeks and it’s been so good every time. Maybe they’re a competitor? Or just unknowledgeable as most armchair “experts” in the quad cities are 😂 Don’t take my word for it, try this place out for yourself.)

“I had to give it a 4 because it was awkward for the majority of the time I was in here. I came in to order a sandwich. The young guy at the counter helped me. While he was making my sandwich, a girl came out from the back and asked me what I was getting and what I wanted with my sandwich. So, she had me pay even before my sandwich was finished toasting. That’s odd? Is it not? So as soon as I paid, she said to the guy, okay I’m going to the bathroom.

Here’s the thing. I think She rushed me into paying because she needed to go to the bathroom? What I can’t figure out is why she had to come in and take over for the young man. I really feel as if she emasculated him. I’ll bet he’s capable of helping me through the entire interaction. I was really bothered by how the young man was treated. It was subtle, so he may have thought nothing of it.

Aside from that, the restaurant was very clean. I love that!

My sandwich tasted great. No issues whatsoever regarding taste or presentation …….however………After my bill was $16 and some change for one sandwich and one drink. I remembered the reason why I don’t go to subway anymore. That’s an unreasonable price for me to pay for a sandwich and a drink. I likely won’t go back.”

After posting my review, the owner privately reached out to discuss the experiences I was having. He even offered to make things right.

Before I accepted, I had to try another experience to see if my concerns were actually addressed.
Happy to report, I’ve been back a couple of times since and the folks in the drive thru are READING the tickets and got drinks unprompted.

ENZO’S DOESN’T CARE

I frequent Enzo’s 1-2 times per week and order online for pick up every single time.

Every time I order a drink, I get to the pick up window and NO ONE has ever known we had drinks. I have to remind them every time. Even had an employee argue with me in the drive thru the last experience.

I called the restaurant after I left without my drink due to the rude employees and the ‘manager’ on duty who answered the phone said I ‘should’ve banged on the window until someone gave you your drink’

No apology, no listening to me explaining the situation…cut me off and was rude. Great management.

To further that, I had also left feedback on their website, via some AI chatbot tool…I left all of my information….no one ever responded to me or reached out. They don’t care about negative feedback unless it’s in a Google review.

The food at Enzos’s is quality, but the staff and attention to detail is worse than McDonald’s. When Enzo’s first opened, they rivaled Chic-Fil-A. Now they don’t seem to care.”

“I’m Chicago born and raised, so yeah—I don’t play about my pizza. Deep dish, tavern-style, Sicilian… I love it all. So when my friends kept talking up Smash Pizza, we decided to try it for Mother’s Day. It’s a cute, smaller spot, so just know you might have to wait or do takeout. But the staff made it worth it—our waitress (purple ponytail, wish I caught her name!) was so warm and helpful with recommendations. We started with the bread plate, and listen…that alone was a win. Fresh bread, olive oil, butter, burrata—honestly didn’t even need the extras, it was that good. Now the pizza. I was a little skeptical because Chicago folks know—we like our crust thin with a little crunch. But we went with their Sicilian style and I’m so glad we did. That crust? Light, airy, crispy…nothing like that chain pizza pan crust. Just done right. We got the Queen, and my son tried the mushroom and fried kale. I don’t even like mushrooms, but that fried kale? So good—crispy, flavorful, perfect texture. Everything tasted fresh. Like, really fresh. Hell, even the water tasted fresh, lbs! All in all, this place is legit. I haven’t had pizza like that in a long time—it really reminded me of home. If you’re thinking about going, just go. It’s worth it.”

“What's not to like? The absolute BEST ice cream with tons of flavors to choose from, friendly locals, clean, consistent, and straight forward. Whitey's is a winner with my whole family! Plan to spend at least $5-$10 a person but it is well worth it!”
