“We were staying in Danville for a couple of nights and wanted to find a place with good food since we'd been in the road for 2 days. The reviews of this place were positive so we decided to give it a try (it was Valentine's Day btw), and we were not disappointed. In fact, I had the BEST catfish of my life. No joke! And spending time in TX as a youngster, I had a lot of catfish. The breading is done perfectly; cornmeal and not too thick. You can taste the fish and its melt in your mouth flaky, light and delicious. In fact, my husband ate so much of mine, we tried to go back the next day so we both could get it but the kitchen was closed that day. It came with coleslaw and fries. I don't eat coleslaw but my husband said it was good. The fries are 4 star fries. They were not crispy and were a bit greasy. The drinks we ordered were delicious and when I asked for a margarita without the mixer they were accommodating and checked to make sure it was how I liked it. My husband got a cheeseburger and ordered it medium rare but was brought out well done. The server was great and let us know she forgot to tell the kitchen and took it back and had it remade. This is such a rare thing in food service that I would come back for the service! They had a dessert special of crème brûlée and I can't pass up that dessert as it's my favorite. The sugar was perfectly caramelized and the vanilla crème was creamy and delicious! The place is clean and the service is amazing!! If I'm ever back in Danville, this is where I will go! Thank you for a delicious and fun Valentine's meal!“
“Excellent service from Annette... nice atmosphere, quickly attended to, food was delicious and delivered quickly and was hot. Everything needed was at the table ahead of time, brought to us by our waitress. Stellar restaurant. Like being at home with family around.Parking: Next to the restaurant, very short, flat walk.Wheelchair accessibility: I use a walker with no issues“
“A wonderful iconic Danville staple housed in an old train depot where thousands of people once waited to catch a train to Chicago, St Louis or just across town filled with relics and memories of a time gone bye an excellent place to eat and spend time with family.“
“Gilbert Street is fantastic. Delicious food, fair prices, great service and very clean. Food is served fast and the staff is always so welcoming and smiling. Anytime we are in the Danville area, the kids always request we stop there. It's one of our favorite restaurants in Central Illinois.“
“Fantastic place. Great food. We had Italian beef sandwiches and the price was right. Small place for dining in but it was just right for us. A lot of food for a reasonable price. For $10.00 bucks you get the sandwich plus potato chips and a side. ??.“
“We like Ela's Eatery! The menu is large and wide, service is good, and the prices are competitive. I like the nice large salads, and their burgers and daily specials are also delicious. The building has recently been remodeled, and it seats a lot of ppl. I like to meet my girlfriends there for lunch when they are on a time restriction for work. Calling in orders has worked out fabulously, the meals are waiting on the table when we arrive. We are very much like the people there.“
“So far on our Burger Review journey this place has been the best. Go to our YouTube channel Xifferent for the content. The bacon cheese burger was juicy the bacon was cooked perfectly. The fries were delicious as well. Definitely a solid restaurant and the pricing isn’t bad.“
“I ate here for a business lunch, and was very pleased with my experience. The food was delicious, and the service was fast, which was surprising because it was extremely full while we were there. We got two appetizers that came out in minutes, and our food came out about 10 minutes later, which was perfect. I would definitely return here!“
“Best steaks and burgers around. Staff are always accommodating no matter how busy the place is. Phil Adams the owner, and his staff have always kept that place nostalgic and very family friendly and if you’re wearing sweatpants, you might be overdressed. Great place to take the Family or the employees for a great night out. I highly recommend it.“
“Doesn't look like much from outside but really cool atmosphere inside. Seems like maybe was re-done recently. Food was great for a quick lunch and the staff was really friendly. Seems like a solid local hangout, was visiting from out of town and just dropped in.“
“OK I was excited to see this place finally open like for seating and eating in. Really nice people and great customer service. I ordered the strawberry salad and it was delicious. Bowl could’ve been a little bigger, it was hard to mix up the salad because of the small bowl. Nice casual atmosphere, if I lived closer I’d be ordering their to go meals.“
“Ordered steamed broccoli and cup of cheese only got what seemed like 2 tablespoonfuls of broccoli in bowl not happy seemed like I had more cheese than broccoli ? not happy for the price I paid for it...other than thatFood tasted goodPrices are reasonableFriendly staffAtmosphere is goodParking: Hard time pulling/ backing out from parking space because drive up line behind / in front of you and you can't get outWheelchair accessibility: Very good accessibility and space for wheelchairs“
“It was slightly short staffed so things were a bit slow on service, but waitress made up for it by having a smile on her face and carrying out a perfect order. Biscuits came out fresh and sides were done up perfect. I had the all you can eat shrimp, and it was a great dinner! It's been a long time since I've been, but you can't go wrong with the all you can eat shrimp when they carry it.“
“Ordered takeout wings on 50 cent wing night. Got the time to be there after order confirmation. Showed up just casually late by 5 min or so. Checked in with the staff. Waited and waited. Let's just say I got my food 20+ min later than pickup time. I'm a pretty reasonable person, but come to find out the food was done and boxed the whole time. It wasn't crazy busy or anything like that, so idk why it took the waitress handling the carry out orders so long to put 2 and 2 together.“
