“I attended Davern’s Tavern and Lounge over the weekend for a benefit. Wow!! If you’re looking for a place to hold a benefit, this is it! The outside grounds were very nice and spacious. The bartender and all the workers were so friendly and
helpful. Joe the owner, especially stood out. His love for Byron and this wonderful family was so evident. He was funny and held the guests attention, raising as much as much money as possible for them. He was more than just the owner of the bar, he genuinely cared about this benefit and everyone felt it.“

Parking: Being right by the commuter rail station and by the library makes it a little challenging to find parking sometimes. Street parking is free and, after a certain hours during the week the commuter parking lot parking is free, and free on weekends. Not bad in the evenings, usually. Downers Grove also has a parking garage a short walk away with free 4-Hour parking during the week.

“This is not your typical ‘bar food’. Everything we have tried there is higher quality Restaurant Food. Bartenders … especially Artie and Kristy are attentive, efficient and fun ! The 0wner, Tommy is usually hanging around and is friendly and accommodating. Sometimes due to allergies I have to alter the menu a little and he doesn’t hesitate to switch things around a little… Do yourself a favor… stop in for a great meal and enjoy a friendly atmosphere.“

“This has been our go to place for Friday dinner for over a year now. It’s a bit of a drive from our house but it’s well worth it. Their burgers are outstanding. We had a party for my birthday here a few years ago with about 25 people and they did an awesome job. Everyone was happy. Liana and Natalie are our favorite servers. They both do an awesome job and always go above and beyond. They see us come in and our drinks are on the table shortly after that. The popcorn is pretty good too. Great food, great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Wolfs Head is definitely one of our favorite places.“

“My wife and I just recently got married, and we booked our "Home Town" Reception at Slager's. We frequent Slager's pretty regular and I will be honest, I was concerned that the facility could not handle the crowd that we expected. I will now again be honest and say I was completely wrong. We expected between 60 - 80 people, we had 60 and we could have had up to 100 - 120 comfortably. Jimmy and his staff were amazing, accommodated every request we made, catering was amazing, DJ was perfect, and all our guests echoed all the same sentiment! Thank you again to Slager's, and all their staff, for doing all they could to make our party a special night! DO NOT EVER HESITATE TO HAVE YOUR NEXT PARTY AT SLAGER'S!!!“
