“(Last visited 8/29/2022.) It's a a dreary Monday and after flying in from Connecticut while enduring flight delay after flight delay, I'm tired, but I'm hungry. The closest place to the hotel is INSIDE the hotel and that's Sip & Savor. Hotel food gets a bad rep, but I was ASSURED that the food here was good. So, I was given some recommendations and walked downstairs to experience what this place has to offer...Atmosphere/Appearance: It's a hotel bar. Lol. There's a huge bar rail that wraps around the actual bar so you can sit on 3 different sides. Plenty of seating. Directly behind the seats are tables where you can relax with a group of friends or your family. It was fairly quiet in there, but I can see it getting pretty loud if there's a big work group in here or something.Service: Kelly took excellent care of me. She was the only one working so she had her hands full, but she managed to check on everyone, take care of everyone and even have conversations with several folks. She was super friendly and most importantly, honest about the things on the menu when I asked her.Food: I started off with the Grilled Shrimp Tacos. They come in an order of 3 with a grilled lime and verde salsa on the side. These were honestly fantastic. The balance of cilantro-lime crema with crunchy cabbage and the subtle shrimp flavor worked together so well. For my entrée I opted for what was recommended to me, the BBQ Bacon Jack Burger. It's described as having Monterey jack cheese, caramelized onions, bacon and BBQ sauce. Lettuce, tomato and a pickle spear are served on the side. This burger was actually very, very delicious, but I was asked how I wanted it cooked. I said medium. The burger came out well-done. So that told me one of 2 things. Either someone is goofing off in the kitchen back there or someone is inexperienced. When I told Kelly about the blunder I heard someone else say, "that's the 3rd time that's happened tonight". So... that should be fixed. Quickly. Kelly offered to have it recooked, but I hate wasting food and I wanted to be on my way. So I enjoyed my overcooked dry burger as best that I could and moved on.Value: My tacos were $12.50 and my burger was $14.00. Not bad pricing at all for hotel food. Usually it can be hiked up a bit, just like mall food or airport food, but not here, great value. In conclusion, I would like to give this place a 3.6, but because I'm positive and generous, it rounds up to 4. If I do return to this place and my burger is overcooked, then I'll send it back because I do want to get what I want if I'm a paying customer. If you made it this far in the review, I appreciate you reading. Please do me a favor and head on over to "The Hungry Road" on YouTube and subscribe! My channel features a lot of food, car and exclusive shoe related content! Help me grow! Thank you so much!“
“We were staying at the Marriott SW last night and decided to dine in. We were the only ones in the restaurant and had to wait a little bit for the bartender to take our order. I was a little skeptical. But we were pleasantly surprised how delicious everything was! And we are picky eaters! And the bartender was very pleasant and did a great job. I Highly recommend it.“
“Had an amazing lunch!!! Food selection is amazing. I wound up with the Tuna Poke Bowl and it didn’t disappoint. Our waitstaff was attentive to detail. I am not a big dessert person when I go out, but the Key Lime Pie was calling our names. SOOOOO good!!! Thank you for a great meal. We will be back very soon.“
“Chef! Don't ever take the short rib gnocchi off the menu! Great food and fresh pasta made daily , all served by a Fabulous wait staff! Many dedicated customers. Read these reviews! I didn't want to review because now it will be harder to get a table. They have an outdoor area in back when it's warmer.. so don't be deceived by it's size. Be sure to make a reservation! Enjoy a great dinner and drinks here and tip the staff well!Almost forgot...best calamari appetizer...Ever!Parking: Street parking not too bad. In the evening some surrounding businesses are closed. Besides, you'll probably want to walk off that cheesecake!“
“We had my daughter’s baby shower today and everything was amazing! Our servers Gregory and Kosta were great! They attended to all our needs. The room we had the shower in was set up beautifully! The food was delicious as everyone said it would be that had their events there. My family had recommended Kefi as so do I for your special events. Thank you to everyone at Kefi for making it a very Special day for us!!“
“Finally a place where we can get an amazing burger! OMGosh —— simply amazing! And then there was the Italian Beef and BLT that went by. ?? Well be back to try those! Kudos to the “chef” in the kitchen! So back to Nicks Tavern - my brothers and their friends used to come here and rave about it! Can’t believe it took me this long. Old world charm!! The bartender Noel was absolutely fantastic from the hello when we walked in until the moment we left! It felt like home here at Nick’s! And the regulars - oh the regulars! Yes! Loved it!!! And if we could give move than a 5 stars - we would! Go to Nick’s Tavern - you won’t be disappointed!!“
“Always enjoy your place ! Our go to when visiting our children and grandchildren in Lemont ! Food is always great and the service is top notch and super friendly! We don’t even consider stopping anywhere else because I would end up there getting my fav meatloaf dinner for the ride home anyway ?❤️❤️❤️Kid-friendliness: They treat my granddaughter like the the princess she is and they call you by name“
“I go here 2-3 times a week to sing, drink and mingle with every customer. Everyone talks to you and the staff is the greatest line up anywhere. They love their customers and they like to have fun, as I have seen them dance to karaoke or just being silly with each other. The front deck is amazing and I can't wait for the fun meals once the kitchen is finished. I used to make this a once a year place, but now it is a must stop everytime if out for drinks. Thank you Eileen, Theresa, Karen, Darla and Tracy for making me feel welcome.“
“Met my 3 girl cousins + spouses for the Holidays menu online was intriguing and did not disappoint! Our only mistake was going too early 11:00am. It be way better for dinner. The potato pancakes were hot and crispy. The stuffed cabbage had a tasty mushroom gravy. The goulash soup was piping hot. Hot borsch with dumplings was yummy. Service was good too. We will be back!“
“Since moving to Cicero in 2020 this has been our spot. Food is always on point, service is super friendly and they have an outdoor patio that we can bring our pup pup.Vegetarian options: There's always something vegan or vegetarian friendly.“
“The place was NOT what you'd expect from the outside. It's a VERY CLEAN, newly decorated bar/pub table area. The food was above average! We had mushroom appetizers and burgers and they were both cooked to perfection and the fries were delicious. But what's not to love about WONDERFUL PEOPLE WHO are FRIENDLY AND KIND THAT SERVES YOU. ANN was the bartender/ waitress and she was one of the nicest people we've met in a long time. Fun conversation, feel like I've known her forever!! Everything WAS GREAT and I've been a total "Karen" lately because of so many bad places!! PUB FOOD AT IT'S BEST, a diamond in the rough!! Give it a try!!!“
“I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place is! Andrew was a wonderful server and very helpful. This place makes everything well. The burgers looked amazing. I selected a special of Garlic rigatoni and sausage. I also had the beet salad which was really, really good. This place is very comfy and the staff is fantastic from front of the house to back!“
“They only serve lunch only during the weekdays (no dinner and no weekends). However it is the best lunch around! It's like your mom went in the kitchen and made it for you. Soups are made from scratch and they are delicious. The BLT on rye is outstanding. And if they have it, you have to try the potato salad. This is a bar with a Northwoods atmosphere that has affordable prices but there are some tables to sit at. They also have a Friday fish special.“
“Discovered this place while biking to catch the BNSF back to Chicago. Usually would bike past to hop on the train at Western Springs or LaGrange Road. But one day I stopped short and popped in here. Really impressed by the selection of beer, wine, and whiskey. Before the Derby, they had three different bottles of Blanton's Bourbon. I asked for a smell (it's not Jimmy John's, I know) and they obliged me without so much as a blink of the eye. Quite an impressive wine selection. They are serious about their libations and happy to share their knowledge. I really like this place. Good vibe and great drinks. Check it out. Not sure why some clown gave it two stars. But reading that review, it's the poster who is confused, not the establishment. Cheers!“
“I would highly recommend fourteensixteen as it is by far the best restaurant in lagrange. The staff are amazing, the vibes are on point, and the location itself presents itself well. I got the pistachio covered lamb rack when I last went, and it was phenomenal. The dish held up well, the lamb was moist, and the sauces complimented the lamb perfectly. I also had the mango cheesecake, and I can still remember how perfect the cheesecake was. It was a perfect amount of cheesecake flavor to mango flavor. I would highly highly recommend this restaurant as I have yet to see a better one in the surrounding area.“
“The menu is rather limited and missing many staple dishes of Podhale - Baranina, Kwasnica, Oscypek, Smalec, Pstrag or Bryndza... Overall all not bad, but providing this is Chicagoland area with all the access to Polish foods, the culinary selections on your menu could be so much more specialized and refined.“
“Stopped in with my sister (missed a bus had to wait) and I am so glad we did. We caught the last hour of Happy Hour and tried the wings... Amazing and the sauces served on the side is just a great idea. I was able to try them all. Not a bad one in the bunch. Will be back.“
“We went for St. Patrick's Day after the kids stuff, around 7:00. Wasn't over crowded, and we got a seat at one of the long tables. Both bands delivered the goods. We were singing, dancing and having a great time until the last band finished up around 11:30. The service is superb. How they keep orders straight, mix great cocktails, don't spill in the crowd.?..all while smiling and being nice...amazing. We go often and will remain loyal.“
“Amazing sports bar! Eric was our “best” bartender with his amazing hospitality and continuous conversation. He was on top of his game with making sure we were taken care of. He truly cared about the conversations he had with us and his guests. The food was great quality and served appropriately. Only if all owners/bartenders could be like Eric, life would be great!“
“I was a little disappointed in my fries that came with my delicious chicken tenders!! My husband was a little disappointed with the fish fry where the batter was very hard. 2 times out of the 4 times I've been to Grill 89 I got delicious crispy hot fries.“
“Local bar that we walked to to get a few drinks on st Patrick's day. The specials were nice but we ended up getting some Guinness and car bombs. I got to try malort for the first time (not really a fan) prices were fine. The bartender was friendly and attentive. Wasn't too crowded. Had video poker inside which is something I'm not used to due to not being from the Midwest. I'd swing by and get some drinks here again“
“I don't like to leave a review of a place I've been to only once. Needless to say, I have been to The Works Tavern a few times and it's some of the best food in Chicago, especially on the south side. Mike is a culinary expert and my last visit proved it. I legitimately had the best Philly Cheesesteak I've ever had. The steak was juicy, the bread was soft and the cheese was super cheesy (10/10).The food is always fresh, the beer is always cold and my kids love the pizza! On our last visit, we ordered the fried zucchini, a pepperoni pizza, wings, and the Philly cheesesteak. Everything was delicious and we washed it down with $3 Pacifico beers. Can't beat that.“
“We had a great time here. The cocktail menu was different and has Indian touch to various standard American fare.Portions were good sized and spice levels are mild. We had to specify “spicy” to get spice level to a “normal” level. They have decent vegetarian choices. But I wish they had some creative choices for veg entrees too“
“I'll be honest with you--I did not want to write this review. I want to keep the Friendly Tap Community a secret. You won't find any place like it. They've got a bar, a coffee shop, live music, open mic night, music lessons, an 80s arcade machine with multiple games, snacks and pizza, and a gallery for shows and other events. Go there often enough and your name will be learned not only by the super-friendly staff, but by other patrons as well. Friendly's lives up to its name well beyond what you may expect. If you can only come here once, come on a Thursday night. There's almost always live music on Thursdays--see my video for an example. If you do go on a Thursday, ask for me so I can welcome you personally. ?Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome anytime but you probably want to keep younger ones during the daytime hours. It can get loud in the evenings. There are games and seating in the room next to the bar but it may be occupied by a band or party at night.Wheelchair accessibility: The front door floors are fairly level with the external ground. It may be easier to enter through the coffee shop as the bar area has stools to navigate in a wheel chair.“
“Just discovered Fast Eddys Pizza and their pizza blew me away!? From the first bite to the last, it was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. From the crispy yet chewy crust to the burst of flavors in every bite, their commitment to quality shines through. Friendly service and fast delivery made the experience even better. Can't wait to order again!“
“The food at Saban's can't be beat. We had the pork chops. They were cooked to perfection, delicious, beautiful presentation, plentiful amounts enough for another meal. The service was great. And the prices are like going back in time. I seriously don't know why anyone would want to eat any place else.“
“I love this bar so much I started coming here with my friend Liz who works here and it's such a good vibe. No drama good music good drinks and amazing people. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BAR come down to tio Juan's for a good time and events“
“I came to this place with my wife because we enjoy having a few cheap drinks and trying our luck with the slots. Fortunately I won $75 from a $20, would have been the $120 but I pushed my luck. Nevertheless Windsor Café had great friendly service, cheap drinks, and a clean & sanitary establishment for people to kick back and have a great time!“
“One of our family favorite places to go. The food is always wonderful! Wait staff always kind and considerate and we love the atmosphere there. If you haven't tried the burgers you are missing out. I can never finish one and they make great left overs. Keep up with great job Country House!“
“5 stars for HECTOR in Western Springs!!!Hands down this was the absolute best dining experience I’ve ever had! While the food was delicious and the overall ambiance and decor of the restaurant was cozy, it was our server that made this dining experience over the top, great! HECTOR, you are a gem, a diamond! You have an absolutely charming personality and made my mother in law’s birthday dinner an experience to remember! From your spot on suggestions, to your lovely rendition of “Happy Birthday”, to the funny banter, our whole family left talking about how wonderful you were! We will be back and we will be sure to come when you are serving! Thank you Hector!!!“
“This is my favorite bar in Berwyn. The owners are delightful, and the staff is exceptional. The drinks are reasonably priced and delicious, and their outdoor patio is perfect for all seasons with its heat lamps, games, and friendly atmosphere. Additionally, you're welcome to bring in your own food from one of the fantastic restaurants in the neighborhood.“
“First time hereFood was excellent ??highly recommend ?We stayed for a few drinks and played the slots.. ? ?didn't win but had funI would definitely go back for the food?I Got the Italian beef it was one of the best I ever had ?I love the fact that they pay tribute to the local high school??(I also went to that high school? )Also I'd like to point out the restrooms, when I say they were the nicest and cleanest restrooms I have EVER been in in a tavern I promise you they were!Definitely a local barHad a good timeSorry no photos the food looked so good and I was starving so we dug right in but it was great!Additional parking in back“
“An excellent restaurant for comfy Italian food (with some neighborhood fares, such as burgers and sliders). Menu is stacked mostly with approachable and familiar items, and service is friendly and attentive. It is not cheap, but appropriate for the quality of food and service.“
“This is one of my favorite spots on the Madison strip of bars. The staff are always friendly, and they have a solid beer list. Once, I was wearing a shirt from a brewery I had visited, and the owner asked me about it, stating that he is always trying to mix it up with his beer offerings. Would recommend!“
“Stumbled on the polish food buffet today. So so good. The owner is right here and everything is home made. The beef barley soup was outrageously delicious. The potato pancake was very flavorful. The chicken breast amazing. Cabbage & Sausage delicious. Everything was great!“
“It was my first time there ,I'm not a drinker at all but the Bartender Hazel was awesome very patient with me as I tried a few different drinks and had fun.......I was there with my niece and nephew and friends .....thanks for a good time“
“Tasty flavorful burger and some of the best fries I've had. Homemade, hot and crunchy right out of the fryer. Dinner with several drinks for two was like $50, so very affordable. I will be back and can't wait for warm weather to try out the beer garden.“
“Always easy-going bartenders with lots of local craft beers on tap, plus a good selection of bottle and cans. Ciders and NA beers as well. Bartenders will give you a taster before you buy a 5 or 12 oz pour. Customers friendly too, sit right at the bar or outside at tables under umbrellas and strike up a conversation. Board games are available inside. Seen beer drinking parents bring their little kids sometimes. You can bring your well-mannered dog inside too.“
“This is not your typical ‘bar food’. Everything we have tried there is higher quality Restaurant Food. Bartenders … especially Artie and Kristy are attentive, efficient and fun ! The 0wner, Tommy is usually hanging around and is friendly and accommodating. Sometimes due to allergies I have to alter the menu a little and he doesn’t hesitate to switch things around a little… Do yourself a favor… stop in for a great meal and enjoy a friendly atmosphere.“
“Very nice clean bar, love the warm welcoming feel and drink options. They have open mic every third Friday of the month. We really enjoy this neighborhood bar. Great bar service. Great staff, Daren and Neda are fantastic! They also have pizza from Waterworks! They have gaming machines, I like to play a few and have been lucky! If your a Bloody Mary drinker they make a good one.. ?“
“Really nice place for grabbing dinner and a few beers! Exceptional craft selection outshines any other local bar in that department! Can get a little cramped in there some of the busy nights though! The staff are all awesome! Chill low drama no bs kinda place!“
“Ordered the pasta special on Monday night, mostaccoli with meatballs - what a delight! Soda, salad and bread included - Good portions, Great value. Liz served us and was a delight! Wonderful start to the new week - can't wait to come back!“
“Great Chicago Tavern. Old Style on tap. Malort behind the counter(ant your own risk, lol). Owner is awesome. Went here because growing up as a kid in Chicago I’ve been to taverns with the old man but never been to one as an adult. Would definitely go back here again.“
“Nadine was an amazing server! She was prompt and knowledgable about the establishment. Food was good, but nothing to rave about.Definitely would come again if someone wanted to meet here, but don't think it would be something I'd crave to come back on my own terms.“
“Lunar Brewing Company is located in suburban Villa Park. My love and I would normally not be anywhere near Villa Park, but we tagged along with our friends for an eats-and-drinks excursion in the 'burbs earlier this summer. We stopped in for some drinks here, and there is an extensive list of beverages to choose from. The interior is plastered with all sorts of beer memorabilia and other random fun things. Check out Lunar Brewing for easygoing good times if you are in the area.“
“The outside looks unordinary but once inside youll see a quaint little pub with lots of charm. I'm always in search of the perfect Guinness and this spot almost had it. They almost poured Guinness the correct way but they tend to rush it and over filled and spilled. It was also fairly pricey for a pint of Guinness. Give it a shot if you're in the area.“
“We were seated at a booth in the bar area. It was comfortable but the noise level was a bit elevated. Would have preferred being seated in the dining room. Our server was attentive and courteous. Both of our cocktails were incorrect, but the bar order was rectified. Food was tasty and ample. The cioppino was way too spicy (hot). Chef went overboard on the red pepper flakes. Overall, a pleasant dining experience and we would recommend Devon to others.“
“Truly cannot say enough great things about Lucca & their staff. We love popping in for dinner, so much so, we chose to host my sister’s wedding shower here last weekend. From the initial planning with Sonia to the day of, we were blown away by the food, service and care we received. There is very little needed in terms of decoration [the space is beautiful as-is] and Sonia and her team did a wonderful job keeping everything running smoothly and on time. We even ended up needing to push our first course back by at least 15 minutes and they still didn’t skip a beat. Nothing felt rushed, behind schedule or off beat in any way. The entire staff was very gracious & accommodating.Did I mention the food? Everyone is still talking about it!10/10 recommend for any event. Quality, care, professionalism and service all remain top notch!Kid-friendliness: We had children at our event who enjoyed everything just as much as we did.“
“A great place to try craft beers, warm atmosphere with live jazz, there are beer yoga classes on Sundays from 10 to 11 am 20usd per class with a pint of beer, I also highly recommend pinball tournaments.A great place to try craft beers, warm atmosphere with live jazz, there are beer yoga classes on Sundays from 10 to 11 am 20usd a class with a pint of beer, also pinball tournaments.
