TapRoot is a great local spot with a relaxed atmosphere and a menu that offers plenty of satisfying choices. The food was flavorful and thoughtfully prepared, while the comfortable setting made it easy to enjoy a casual meal or drinks. The service was friendly and welcoming throughout the visit. A nice place to unwind and enjoy time with friends in Decatur.

The 8oz filet mignon is a must-try dish, and the Chicken Primavera soup is hearty, just watch out for the overabundance of peas. The Manhattan and Bloody Mary are top-notch drinks. The freshly baked rolls are served drenched in melted butter. The perfectly cooked butcher's steak, served with twice baked potato and roasted garlic green beans, is one of the best meals. The calamari is the best around, and the French onion soup is the best and reminds of Stoneys. The drunken pork chop and the crab encrusted cod are also excellent choices.
