“Beautiful "old world" space, but with modern takes on Italian food. Great wine list, always interesting specials, small plates and appetizers, with both "old school" and more modern Italian entrees. A warm, friendly, semi-fancy place to eat a lovely meal.“

“Service, ambiance, atmosphere and wine is what you will find at this location. There are some foo foo small bite foods available as well but I did not get into those upon my initial visit. This is a lovely fairly recent addition to Highland Park and one that I recommend you explore. If the name sounds familiar, it should. There are two other locations you may very well be familiar with, one on Waukegan road in Wheeling, and the other in Roselle. I would recommend starting with a flight to get a better feel for the range of wines they offer. There are your expected staples, along with some more aperitif sweeter options. Some of my faves this visit were the Tempranillo 2019,Sauvignon blanc, and the Syrah. The sweets were honestly too sweet for this kid. There is a wine club that you can join and I recommend that you do, we did! If you are looking for a third place to catch up with friends or family, the HP location will definitely lend itself well. Also take advantage of Wine Down Wednesdays for additional deals as well. If you happen to be visiting The Lot for an event, caddy corner across the street, this venue is literally steps away, be sure to stop in and say hello. If needed, the parking across from the venue allows three hours free.“

“All good until we waited for someone to come take our check. Asked two people, no one came. Until finally someone we hadn’t interacted with took the check and abruptly told us they needed the table. We felt very unwelcome. If you wanted us to leave, take the check!“

“Wonderful food, very knowledgable service. We wanted to pace ourselves and our server completely understood and checked with us when we wanted the next course. Helped us pick an appropriate wine. We sat out in the atrium patio - the ambiance was very nice, especially with the fire burning and low noise levels. Very easy to talk and listen to my spouse. Main courses were outstanding - some of the dinner specials for that evening. Our go to dining experience for our special occasions or with good friends.“

“We hadn’t been to Ruth’s Chris steakhouse in a few years. We were pleasantly surprised by how good our meals were. We received excellent advice and service from Brian. He made the trip worthwhile and we will definitely return. Thank you Brian!“

“Absolutely love this place. Started coming here about 5 yrs. ago for the occasional lunch and the experience was great. Over the past year I have been meeting a collogue here every couple of weeks for lunch. We prefer to sit in the bar area as we can normally get the same server Neshia. She knows us well, is fun an very responsive and really takes care of us.Atmosphere. I'd give it a 4 out 5 stars. Very nice place. The recent remodel did a lot to make the entrance and bar area more open and comfortable. Now for the food. I'm trying to eat healthy so I tend to get a lot of salads. The Cooper Ceaser with Chicken is awesome. I can't say enough good things about it. They add pesto to their dressing with is a nice touch. You can't really go wrong with anything on the menu. Over the years, I've had their burgers, steaks, chicken dishes and it's never been bad. Even the lunch portions are more than enough food.“

“It is sad they are closing. Their food is incredible. We even got their pork chops to go with sautéed spinach and garlic potatoes and it was cooked to perfection. We got our son a steak with veggies and it was cooked perfect and he devoured their asparagus and the garlic potatoes. Their steak tartar is the best in area with a raw quail egg. Their boiled octopus is so delicate and flavorful. We ordered the caprese salad too without balsamic because I'm allergic and they made a mistake and brought it out with but quickly corrected. Their drinks are strong and big too. Nice spot but they lost some of their charm. Service has slipped -silverware wasn't clean, bathroom floor super sticky and etc. Very expensive for what you are getting in my opinion or what you get but my mom likes the spot. Not worth the $200 plus dinner in my opinion. Have high chairs but not very kid friendly spot.“
