“Five stars all around for this wonderful restaurant! As first time diners we weren't sure what to expect as all dishes are gluten-free, however every dish was delicious and satisfying. Our party started with 2 very tasty appetizers of Mussels and Cheese Curds. We then enjoyed the House and Seasonal Salads, both having a wonderful honey mustard vinaigrette. For an added touch, the Seasonal Salad was topped with goat cheese. I can't say enough about our entrees. Not only were the presentations well done, all tasted as wonderful as they looked! The Skate Wing with Snap Peas was a mild white meat fish, with caper brown butter sauce. The Short Rib was perfectly done and topped with brown sugar glaze. The Hanger Steak, ordered medium rare, had a roasted peppered chutney, charred on the outside, and two roasted whipped sweet potatoes. Our meal was topped off with the Julian's Frozen Custard dessert and espresso. The restaurant itself is somewhat small, with a cozy and charming feel to it so reservations are a must! Our service thruout the evening was exceptional so kudos to the attentive staff. A final note there is additional parking across the street so take advantage when the main lot is full. Both wait staff and hostess team seemed very engaged, from when I made the reservation to when we stepped into the restaurant and even when we left. Our waitperson was efficient, polite, and knowledgable. Food: was really outstanding (we had bouillabaisse and a special risotto dish with scallops). The menu was varied and interesting - I often gauge a restaurant by looking at the menu and having a difficult time making a selection because many items looked good. I liked that they had a quality menu with several selections that seemed creative. The quantity of items was also just right. Not too many, not too few. Other: When they took my reservation, they asked if it was a special occasion. I said it was for my husband's birthday. They asked his name - I didn't really know why but told them. When we were seated, I realized why. They had printed a special version of the menu with a happy birthday note to my husband. It was a very inexpensive, clever, and simple, yet meaningful step. This bar is popular but gets more crowded in the summer months. Located on the Fox River it's always fun to stop while boating. They also have gas for refueling boats. There are also a lot machines and there is outdoor seating in the summer months. I would highly recommend visiting no wake.“

We were greeted with such a warm & welcoming atmosphere & presence from the staff in attendance. I got the Crab, Shrimp & Lobster Bisque as an appetizer, & it was my very first time trying it, & it was delicious! I also tried the Brussels sprouts dish they had as an appetizer & they were really good. As my meal I had the Baked Parmesan Shrimp Scampi, absolutely amazing! “We got there when they first opened and our service was great. I’ve been places that act out off by the arrival of customers upon first opening so I am appreciative that was not the case. We drive for a living so getting to stop and eat somewhere is a treat. This spot is connected to a hotel so the parking may be minimal depending on what they have going on. We’re in a 40’ straight truck and still found parking with a full lot. Being that it was my first time I’d never had the Hawaiian chicken before. It reminded me of burbon chicken, which I am not a fan of. I asked if they could remake the chicken without the marinade and there was no issue. Don’t let that discourage you from trying the Hawaiian I’m just a super picky eater. The rice pilaf and broccoli were great! Check your water cups because I didn’t catch mine til later into my drink that it had some floaties at the bottom. I had no toddlers with me to cause this. I did let my waitress know and she took care of it and informed me she switched water sources. I mention this so anyone with an issue isn’t hesitant to bring it respectfully to their attention and they too will respectfully address and fix the problem. No yelling or fits are necessary. Now that we know this place is here and we can fit our truck we will be sure to try more dishes in the future should we return to this area. My wife and I both had skillets and although my wife didn't necessarily like something about her steak (maybe the marinade?), we did generally enjoy our meals. I mean, they're skillets, so there isn't much to judge as most skillets are very similar and hard to mess up. The service was great, we were checked on quite a few times during our meal, with our waters being filled without having to ask. That's to be expected at Culver's. When I arrived, I was greeted when i walked through the door. I ordered my food, a double sourdough melt with deep fried cheese curds. it was delicious. A few days passed, and I returned to the culver's in Elgin. I ordered a double butter burger. Chili cheese, fries, and a scoop with hot caramel and banana. These were also very good. I received my food promptly. Every part of my order was hot and fresh. I have no complaints to state about Culver's.“
