The reasons I didn't rate 5 stars is because the toast was barely toasted and a bit soggy, and the chicken tenders seemed very small for the price. Not to mention, half of the breading came off of one of my tiny tenders. Overall the flavor was decent. The Canes sauce is the only reason for the 4th star. Had a much better experience the time before. I'll have to give it another shot a different time.“

“We typically use the drive thru. We like your food, always fresh and tasty. Tonight I had the chicken avocado and strawberry salad. The salad was fresh, walnuts were sweet and crispy, dressing was very creamy. The only criticism I have is my chicken avocado and strawberry salad had no avocados. I do understand sometimes you can run out of ingredients or supply chain issues can interfere with menus. I would just ask to have this made known to us upon ordering or upon discovery, all in the interest of good customer service that you usually do deliver.“

“Ordered food for the first time yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the 1/2lb jumbo shrimp and fries and loved every bit of it. Shrimp was lightly breaded and not greasy. The shrimp could have been cooked about 30 seconds longer but that’s just my personal preference and won’t stop me from going back. To make everything better, the restaurant was very clean and even the kitchen was from what I could see was as well which really made me happy. Overall great experience and will be back to get the catfish, wings and shrimp!!“

“This is a new Culver's, still great food, in a modern package. You must try everything but for your first time go with a butter burger, cheese curds, and leave room for custard of your choice.

Next time (there will be a next time) look beyond a burger and try the cod, pot roast sandwich, or soup.

“Very good hot dog; they really grill it until it is hot. A "Shroomer" made as a grilled chicken sandwich is good. The burger is good and I have ended up getting a kid's meal last time so that I can try to eat less meat. I am more of a light weight person anyway. The inside of the restaurant could be renovated. They are still in the real old Kooker's building with the same old tile floor that Kooker's restaurant had when I was in high school. It is over 20 years later now. I have been willing to go back to Happy Burger to get meals. The people at the front desk are nice. I do admit, though, sometimes I end up getting a burger for $3 at fast food drive-throughs. Happy Burger (HB) burger tastes more like a fresh made juicy burger when compared to the McDonald's on the other side of the street. HB fries are not bad but could be better because when the HB fries come up and go into a bag, I have found they were a bit wet.Wet fries is a common imperfection with Chicago-style grills.“

“I really wish that when you ask for a specific amount of Arby's Sauce that they don't just throw a boatload of every sauce they have in there. I end up throwing away 8+ packets of Horsey Sauce that no one in our house eats. not only is that bad on the landfill but it costs the owner. Let's face it,, what costs the owner ultimately costs the employees. if they are doing that to us every time think about how many people come through the drive thru in a day. so maybe 100 people have the same experience as we do, that's 800 wasted packets of Sauce a day, 5600 a week, 24,000 a month or 288,000 a year. That's just one location. Please think more responsibly.“

“I visited the Crystal Lake Culver’s on Saturday, May 24th, 2025. I am an avid fan of Culver’s and I have visited 35 locations in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri and Kentucky. As a resident of Crystal Lake I visit this Culver’s very regularly. The food was excellent and the service was quick. My only complaint is the waffle fries are always served kind of cool as they naturally cool off quick because of their design, and there never seems to be any salt on them. The Chicken tenders are warm and tender. The Chicken Soup is my favorite thing here.“

I've had their beef before with catering and it's excellent, but this visit was the Chicago dog. It was perfect. Double dogs for a dollar. It's one of the better hot dogs in the area. The bun held up the entire time, even with two dogs and all the toppings. And it might sound silly, but the place has really good napkins. They are thick and stand up to the food that doesn't fall apart. Just saying. Don't miss Tuesdays with one dollar hot dogs. Definitely recommend. “Very good hot dogs and fries for a fair price. As usual it’s always best to go during peak business hours for the freshest dogs. You’ll get a dog wrapped with a decent amount of fries. Fries a fresh cut and salted. I was apprehensive about the pizza but I tried it with a combo and the sausage pizza was very good too. Food will be ready quick, either eat there or grab and go.“

For me, the stars of the show are the Texas toast and the Cane's sauce. The sauce has a bit of a kick and is savory, and I dip everything in it. “We used to come here every time we traveled through the area and actually go out of our way to go there. We used to live in the area. I was always impressed on how the man behind the counter could remember the orders and not write them down. The food was always great. We were there recently and it seems they changed owners? The Italian beef is still good, I ordered a Chicago hotdog. There was no poppyseed bun and way too much mustard so that the bun fell apart. The hot dog itself didn’t taste the same either.They used to have booths with soft seats which were nice for elderly people. All they have now are long tables and small bar stools to sit on which was an option before. Hard to be comfortable. It’s a different person taking orders. I was disappointed and we probably won’t go out of our way to come back.“

“I had the Beast double combo, added bacon , extra cheese and lettuce. I have to say, the burger was pretty good. I wish it had a little more sauce and mayo but it was really good. It's up there in price but you do get full. I would like if they had more advertising or anything to let you know it's a ghost menu. I drove around a few times because it was a pizza joint and couldn't see any signs of Mr beast burgers. I will be back but I hope Mr beast makes these adjustments.“
