We tried Chennai Central's Thursday Chaat & Dosa Buffet Launch, and it was an exceptional experience! The event drew a huge crowd, but the efficient service ensured that everyone had a great time. The ambiance of the dining room was also noteworthy, with nicely designed partitions that provided a sense of privacy, making it comfortable for guests to enjoy their meals without feeling crowded. The food spread was truly impressive, with a wide variety of dishes that were fresh, authentic, and flavorful, all served piping hot. The highlight of our meal was the freshly steamed idlis, which were soft and fluffy. Our server, Sai, politely informed us about the batch, and it was a treat to enjoy them straight from the steamer. This attention to detail reminded me of my family's restaurant, where my dad would famously say, "Idlis are never sitting around waiting for customers; instead, our customers patiently wait for fresh idlis steamed to order!" It's a reminder to appreciate the value of slow, carefully prepared meals, resonating deeply with my father's motto at Chowpatti Vegetarian Restaurant - "what we cook at home for the four of us, is now being cooked for all of us in this dining room." The chicken lollipop was perfectly crispy and juicy, the biryani was aromatic and authentic, and the samosa chaat was just outstanding with the right balance of spice and freshness.
We also tried the butter naan with chili chicken, and it was one of the best combinations ever — soft, fresh naan paired with flavorful and spicy chili chicken. Even the drinks were refreshing and complemented the meal perfectly.

What made the experience even better was the customer service. The Kerala guy who helped us was extremely friendly, polite, and attentive throughout our visit. He had such a warm and welcoming attitude that it genuinely made us feel comfortable and valued as customers.
The food quality, taste, portions, and hospitality were all excellent. You can really tell they care about both the food and the customer experience. Definitely one of the best spots for Indian food in the area. I’ll absolutely be coming back again soon!“
