“Dining Experience On Thursday, September 4, 2025 :👇🏽 We truly enjoyed our visit to Chennai Central .If you're a fan of South Indian cuisine, this is definitely a place worth visiting! We tried Chennai Central's Thursday Chaat & Dosa Buffet Launch, and it was an exceptional experience! The event drew a huge crowd, but the efficient service ensured that everyone had a great time. The ambiance of the dining room was also noteworthy, with nicely designed partitions that provided a sense of privacy, making it comfortable for guests to enjoy their meals without feeling crowded. The food spread was truly impressive, with a wide variety of dishes that were fresh, authentic, and flavorful, all served piping hot. The highlight of our meal was the freshly steamed idlis, which were soft and fluffy. Our server, Sai, politely informed us about the batch, and it was a treat to enjoy them straight from the steamer. This attention to detail reminded me of my family's restaurant, where my dad would famously say, "Idlis are never sitting around waiting for customers; instead, our customers patiently wait for fresh idlis steamed to order!" It's a reminder to appreciate the value of slow, carefully prepared meals, resonating deeply with my father's motto at Chowpatti Vegetarian Restaurant - "what we cook at home for the four of us, is now being cooked for all of us in this dining room." Chennai Central's team clearly shares a similar commitment to quality. The medu vadas were superb, with my mom remarking that they were as good as, or possibly even better than, the ones she prepares at home. The food was exceptional, with standout dishes like the Masala Dosa served with three delicious chutneys that burst with authentic, bold flavors. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the personal touch from Chef Divakar and Chef Ramesh, who made rounds through the dining area to ensure everyone was enjoying their meal. They even took the time to share tips on how to properly enjoy their famous layered Parottas with Korma gravy, the authentic way – by generously smothering the Korma onto the Parottas and letting the rich flavors soak in before digging in, a delightful touch! We discovered that this is a chef-owned and operated restaurant, and it's clear that their passion for authentic South Indian cuisine shines through in every dish they serve. What a treat! After enjoying late lunch at Piccolo Buco, our family was definitely in the mood for something sweet, and who better to guide us than my niece, who clearly knows all the best spots! We popped in, and right away, Haleema and Nakiah who was working there last night, greeted us with such a bright, welcoming energy. Their kindness and cheerfulness really set a lovely tone for our visit – it’s always wonderful when the staff makes an experience even better.

We started with some cookies, and they were absolutely spot-on. The chocolate chip, velvet Oreo, and semi-sweet chocolate chip cookies were all beautifully soft and warm, and my kids were over the moon with them. But then came the real discovery! My niece introduced me to the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup, and as a self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things strawberry and chocolate, I was instantly captivated.

Seriously, you guys, when I tell you this was hands down THE BEST Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup I’ve ever tasted, I'm not exaggerating! Every single layer was pure perfection: the juicy, fresh strawberries, the delightful crunch of the kataifi pastry, the incredibly smooth and creamy pistachio butter, and then, sealing the deal, that decadent Belgian milk chocolate. The execution was flawless, and each bite was an absolute dream. We were so smitten that we ended up ordering 2! It’s a bit of a bummer that we don’t live closer, but we’re absolutely thrilled to have found a new go-to place for truly exceptional dessert.
