“Great beers (as usual). Tonight’s review is for the featured “food truck” experience the Counting Crow. Full disclosure, we have never tasted CC prior, although online it looks like they regularly service most of the top Independent craft brewers for some time throughout suburban Chicagoland. Given their excellent reviews, was excited to taste. Nope. Didn’t realize their posted 5-7 limited quantities meant exactly that. By 6:00 pm on a warm busy spring Friday evening, CC was already sold out of 2/3rds of their (flash heated on a table top griddle) menu of Pork belly tacos and Shrimp po’boys (on a Friday, in lent)? Which only left the many hungry to enjoy their signature chicken sandwich (original, medium spicy and extra spicy) served with chips. While the sourcing of their chicken breasts (decent size/texture meaty and fried well) was good, their temperature plated was lukewarm and underwhelming. Maybe a pop up on the patio isn’t the best way to promote your food, Idk. Not a fan and can’t recommend. Definitely won’t go out of my way to sample again“

This is one of my favorite of places. Never had one single issue that I can say is worthwhile giving them a bad review. Sometimes people do reviews based on one single visit. Try to give this people a little a break and maybe another chance, if you are still not happy go to along with whatever is going to make you happy or where you can maybe complaint and get a free meal.“

“Dining Experience On Thursday, September 4, 2025 :👇🏽 We truly enjoyed our visit to Chennai Central .If you're a fan of South Indian cuisine, this is definitely a place worth visiting! We tried Chennai Central's Thursday Chaat & Dosa Buffet Launch, and it was an exceptional experience! The event drew a huge crowd, but the efficient service ensured that everyone had a great time. The ambiance of the dining room was also noteworthy, with nicely designed partitions that provided a sense of privacy, making it comfortable for guests to enjoy their meals without feeling crowded. The food spread was truly impressive, with a wide variety of dishes that were fresh, authentic, and flavorful, all served piping hot. The highlight of our meal was the freshly steamed idlis, which were soft and fluffy. Our server, Sai, politely informed us about the batch, and it was a treat to enjoy them straight from the steamer. This attention to detail reminded me of my family's restaurant, where my dad would famously say, "Idlis are never sitting around waiting for customers; instead, our customers patiently wait for fresh idlis steamed to order!" It's a reminder to appreciate the value of slow, carefully prepared meals, resonating deeply with my father's motto at Chowpatti Vegetarian Restaurant - "what we cook at home for the four of us, is now being cooked for all of us in this dining room." Chennai Central's team clearly shares a similar commitment to quality. The medu vadas were superb, with my mom remarking that they were as good as, or possibly even better than, the ones she prepares at home. The Pav Bhaji was another standout dish, with a perfect balance of spices and a delightful Bombay punch - kudos to Chef Ramesh for his exceptional preparation! The ambiance was clean and inviting, with comfortable furniture that set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The staff were friendly, helpful, and attentive, adding to the overall warmth of the evening. The food was exceptional, with standout dishes like the Masala Dosa served with three delicious chutneys that burst with authentic, bold flavors. What truly elevated the experience, however, was the personal touch from Chef Divakar and Chef Ramesh, who made rounds through the dining area to ensure everyone was enjoying their meal. They even took the time to share tips on how to properly enjoy their famous layered Parottas with Korma gravy, the authentic way – by generously smothering the Korma onto the Parottas and letting the rich flavors soak in before digging in, a delightful touch! We discovered that this is a chef-owned and operated restaurant, and it's clear that their passion for authentic South Indian cuisine shines through in every dish they serve. “I ordered a kebab with a side of fries and fatoush. the kebab was delicious, soft and savory and the fries were crunchy enjoyable and tasty. Also the fatoush was juicy, yummy and had a hint of sour to it, Helen's customer service was sweet and friendly! that was one of the most delicious middle eastern foods I've tried in America so far. I recommend trying it out if you haven't yet!!“

“Recently celebrated a 70th birthday with the D'Alexander family. What a great event. The staff could not have been nicer, and attentive. You only thought you might need something at the table and it would appear out of no where. The food was all home made and you could tell made from traditional old recipes and a lot of love thrown in. You feel like you are in a small cafe in Italy. If you want a great Italian dining experience please take the time to enjoy Made In Italy, because my wife and I plan to go back.“

“Really tasty burger. They cook it with onions but they almost mince the meat like ground beef when they serve it to you. Different, but very good. The fries were very good also - not my favorite but not bad whatsoever - I have very high standards for fries. If you're in the area, give this place some business! The building is clean and the owner was accommodating and friendly.“

What a treat! After enjoying late lunch at Piccolo Buco, our family was definitely in the mood for something sweet, and who better to guide us than my niece, who clearly knows all the best spots! We popped in, and right away, Haleema and Nakiah who was working there last night, greeted us with such a bright, welcoming energy. Their kindness and cheerfulness really set a lovely tone for our visit – it’s always wonderful when the staff makes an experience even better.

We started with some cookies, and they were absolutely spot-on. The chocolate chip, velvet Oreo, and semi-sweet chocolate chip cookies were all beautifully soft and warm, and my kids were over the moon with them. But then came the real discovery! My niece introduced me to the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup, and as a self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things strawberry and chocolate, I was instantly captivated.

Seriously, you guys, when I tell you this was hands down THE BEST Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup I’ve ever tasted, I'm not exaggerating! Every single layer was pure perfection: the juicy, fresh strawberries, the delightful crunch of the kataifi pastry, the incredibly smooth and creamy pistachio butter, and then, sealing the deal, that decadent Belgian milk chocolate. The execution was flawless, and each bite was an absolute dream. We were so smitten that we ended up ordering 2! It’s a bit of a bummer that we don’t live closer, but we’re absolutely thrilled to have found a new go-to place for truly exceptional dessert.

“I was wanting to try Korean style fried chicken. I was not disappointed. The chicken is crispy, moist and just the right amount of spice. The menu looks so good, I had difficulty deciding what to get. I will definitely come back.“

“Got my car serviced at Six Star across the street so I decided to give this place a try. Although I had an hour ride home the food stayed very fresh and crispy. They hands down have the best corn dogs I’ve ever had. Dubokki was insanely good too. Owner was very nice and helpful with suggestions. Can’t wait to go back!“

“We had the best lunch. Our food was tasty and hot, not to mention generously delicious. No wait, great help. Open kitchen. I hope they open one further southwest.“

“I finally got around to trying this place. I came here about quarter to noon on a Thursday. Initially, it was not busy at all. For some reason after I got my food, it became extremely busy, like people were waiting for tables to eat at. They have a bathroom or two, you have to go through the back of the kitchen. The parking lot when it’s not super busy is spacious. I think they have about 9 tables, give or take. I ordered the Italian beef (dipped, hot peppers on the side, sweet peppers on top, and mozzarella cheese) and the original famous hot dog. I got a large Pepsi but it was jumbo size compared to most places.

The Italian beef was very juicy. The giardiniera is mildly hot, not as hot as what people say. I liked that they gave me a ton of cheese and the sweet peppers were large. This is the real gem not the hot dog in my book. The original hot dog had a nice bite to it but it wasn't amazing. The fries were hand cut and crunchy. They give you a moderate amount of fries. Service was very friendly and fast. 4.4 on Google is more accurate to the experience than the 3.5 on Yelp.“

“Had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy breakfast at this fun little Cafe. Right off of Rand rd by Tony's Market in Arlington heights. Had the Popeye Benedict so yummy perfectly poached eggs and fresh fruit so tasty. Definitely worth atleast one visit but you'll find that won't be enough.“

Setting the restaurant inside a beautifully restored 100-year-old home gives it a cozy, intimate vibe that you simply won't find at larger establishments.
