“We had planned date night at Ruthie's before a concert, and had made reservations a couple of months earlier on Walker's Bluff website. On a whim, we called the restaurant the day before to be told that we had no reservation in their listing. The manager, Ernest Carter then immediately looked to see if they could accommodate us, anyway and found us a good table in the bar area. Our bartender Chris was also polite and pleasant. “I love authentic Jamaican food, and when I see The Caribbean Hut Food Truck parked in the parking lot of the Staples store in Carbondale, IL, I always stop for some good food. The owner, Freeman, brings the flavors from his restaurant located at 300 S Maple, Cambria, IL 62915, to Carbondale and surrounding areas on the food truck. Let me tell you something: the food is fresh, hot, and flavorful! The service is always friendly and prompt, the ambiance created by eager customers is lovely, and the portion sizes are plentiful. I can usually eat my meals for two days. The food truck menu varies weekly, and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend you stop by when you see this little food truck in town or head to the restaurant. When you go by, tell them Kindra Speech sent ya!”

“I went to The Vets for the first time Friday, July 2nd. Such a fun place!!! Great bartender, Kristin!!!! She's quick and funny and everything you want to keep a bar full and happy!!!! Very, very clean place!!! All the work they have done is amazing!!! The back patio looks like it is going to be THE place to hang out!!! Beautiful facility!!!! First time trying BJ's Garden Inn Cafe. Had the Sunday lunch plate which is two pieces of fried chicken, white or dark meat, plus two sides. Pictured there are three side because I did not order the carrots. Our service was good, the waitress was great. The food was what I would call average. There wasn't anything bad or wrong with it, just not 5 stars.
We both had the Coconut pie for dessert, it was amazing. Completely homemade down to the crust itself, which was very good. We had Sunday lunch plates(2), drinks(2) and both had pie for dessert and it was under $34.00. Definitely worth it. We are looking forward to trying breakfast there soon. This place is a small town, old time diner. Worth a visit....”

“This is THE BEST! No, it isn't a place you really eat in, but if you want fresh home cooked Cantonese dishes, there is no place better. You walk in to a place that's kinda like nana's parlor. Then you are greeted by the chef herself. She is fantastic, very nice, and an excellent cook. The prices are very fair for the quality and amount of food you get, because you will have some leftovers! The eggrolls and crab rangoon are unbelievable (and heat up well the next day in a toaster oven.) Go try this little hidden gem!”

“I have been going to this establishment with my family since I was a child when I was younger it was the old Rome different building and there was a restaurant on one side and then more of our atmosphere on the other side and time things changed now it's pretty much just a bar setting and as an adult I love to live close to it and be able to go down there and enjoy my free time”
