Cafe Cubano Oak Park is a great neighborhood find with a delicious and flavorful dining experience. Reviewers praise the attentive and friendly servers who remember orders and are happy to inform guests of different favorites, speaking both English and Spanish. The atmosphere is enjoyed by many, with live music and duos adding to the experience.
While one initial visit found the rice and black beans less impressive and a sandwich not toasted enough, a subsequent Sunday buffet experience showcased a variety of great tasting items. This included red beans, fresh salad, toasty Cubano sandwiches, Maduro, plantain chips, tasty and fresh lechon, fresh cut bread with butter, and a great tasting flan and arroz con Leche. The ceviche is highlighted as the best in Chicagoland, with other food also described as fantastic and addictively delicious. Tostones are seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the fish is fresh. The restaurant has gone above and beyond for families, offering complimentary rice and beans to children. Parking is street parking only. Many express a desire for the return of their Paella.
