Fast pace makes this place move fast. Better be ready with your order or somebody may get snarky, the ladies had a more pleasant disposition. Many people were in the bakery line that were to be in the pick-up pre-order line that seemed to add to some confusion.Get there too late and cakes disappear. Cookies were loaded.
Bennison’s bakery is an Evanston institution in its 85th year of business. Solid breakfast treats including donuts, coffee cakes and croissants. I recommend the maple bacon long-john, glazed croissant, and cherry danish.

Bennisons like many staple bakeries in neighborhoods had its day, but it's gone. Everything is "ok"but nothing amazing. And good custimer service is spotty but "ok" . But I'm sure it's my age. I knew better.
