“One of the better ramen places in Chicago area.

I had the spicy Tonkotsu and thin noodles were perfectly al dente, came piping hot, and char siu pieces were tender (albeit too fatty for my preference). Also liked the side option of vinegar to balance out the rich broth.

Overall a pretty good ramen but nothing mind blowing or particularly memorable.
Will be back to try out other variations if I am in the area.“

“Me and my husband had a delicious time. We had Spicy tonkotsu ramen and regular Tonkotsu ramen which were absolutely delicious and well presented! We also had Thai ice tea which was perfect! Ted our server was super nice and attentive! Surely became our new ramen spot !“

“Came in looking for a favorite Tan Tan Men most similar to the taste of which we had in Tokyo. Menya Goku’s Tan Tan Men taste essentially identical to it and I’m glad to have a local restaurant that replicates the true taste of an amazing Tan Tan Men. Amazing service and environment and will return again.“

“We tried shio and shoyu ramen, both were great based on your preference. I personally love beef broth ramen, which is rare to find in Chicago. Definitely would go back to try miso broth too. The soup was not too salty like most ramen shops, and the noodles were thin and still al dente, which is quite impressive. The portion size was perfect. I'm not a fan of the backless counter chairs. We went late afternoon on Saturday and the place was nearly full at an odd hour.“

“Best Ramen in Chicago. Noodles are the perfect texture, broth is rich and full of umami, and of course the pork is oh so tender and charred. Make sure to add an egg as it doesn’t come with it. Don’t expect spicy ramen cause authentic Japanese ramen isn’t really supposed to be.

I highly recommend a visit cause it is worth the hype. I absolutely love Akahoshi, praise the Ramen Lord! ??“

“Stumbled upon this place on a rainy day and I’m glad. It was a peaceful and cute environment to stop by for a meal. I used the tablet to order, but the worker was kind and friendly and made sure to ask if I needed anything.
I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered two appetizers, the chicken buns and crab rangoon.
The chicken buns had chicken katsu which was a first for me, but they tasted delicious and it had a nice crunch to it. Very flavorful. I am a crab rangoon lover and it passed my flavor profile. Creamy because of the cream cheese, but had enough crab to balance it out.
I look forward to eating here again to try the poke bowl and ramen!“

“I got takeout for dinner, I got the spicy chicken karaage bowl and the handcrafted strawberry drink. Everything was phenomenal, the chicken was still crispy even though it sat for about 20 minutes before I ate it. The chicken was very flavorful and spicy but not too spicy. Also the portions were incredibly large for the price, definitely a very good deal and worth every penny! I would highly recommend!“

I find this ramen to be very good and satisfying. The broth in both types of ramen are porky and flavorful. You really know a good ramen spot by their broth.

Their pork belly bun with side sauces was excellent. Really a nice starting treat prior to your soup.

Very reasonable prices as well. The most astonishing fact about this restaurant was the host (Quam) his amazing knowledge of food and customer service was unlike any other. The Ice cream desert was mind blowing. You don't have to take my word for it, but I guarantee you, you won't find another Sushi restaurant in the city of Chicago as good this one. The ambiance of this establishment is very warm and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for family gatherings, and with people you want to share a special food feast with. “Whenever I rarely go out to ramen restaurants, I end up getting full and finishing my meal. Yet, this restaurant made my expectations skyrocket. The chicken ramen had various flavors while the broth had a bit of spice to it (no problem for me honestly). The spicy szechuan wings were unrelated to the average spicy wings. They were genuinely spicy from the tip of your tongue to mouth. The chicken and vegetable gyoza tasted good but the accompanying sauce clashed with it. At the end of it, there was a QR code to either pay the bill in full or spilt it. Would recommend and will bring my friend from Virginia here.“

I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and my partner ordered the general tso chicken (and we both got some tempura shrimp). The server was so kind and polite and our food was AMAZING. “fantastic tiny place but the food sushi huge selection and ramen are great. I have such a nice experience Everytime I go there. The owners Akira and Kathy are THE NICEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. REALLY PLEASANT! I go next door for a pedi and I just feel so relaxed and nice going in this mini strip mall. I really recommend both. if your having a crappy day go get a pedi and enjoy some great sushi or ramen. it's a counter place but it has its own charm and coziness. they use to own the restaurant in Wilmette but downsized. so help keep this gem and go often.😀“

Octopus and salmon Sashimi were the dessert orders from our kids 😂 We will definetly be returning, and highly recommend. Oh my goodness. whoever's recipe that is, please give them a massive hug for me right now and say thank you because that was the most delicious thing I've had in so long. What a TREAT! these folks have somehow managed to incorporate happiness as an ingredient in their food, so when you eat it, All the happiness particles travel through your body for 24 to 48 hours and you feel extremely satisfied and fulfilled. you might miss the ramen afterwards, and you might end up having dreams about it like I do but trust me, they're pleasant dreams.“

“I’ve been here 3x this week and it’s been a solid experience every time. The portions are incredible and the staff is super friendly. I don’t normally dine in but the dining areas are clean and well maintained.
