“One of the better ramen places in Chicago area.

I had the spicy Tonkotsu and thin noodles were perfectly al dente, came piping hot, and char siu pieces were tender (albeit too fatty for my preference). Also liked the side option of vinegar to balance out the rich broth.

Overall a pretty good ramen but nothing mind blowing or particularly memorable.
Will be back to try out other variations if I am in the area.“

“I came to this restaurant in February of this year for my birthday, and 6 months later I’m still thinking about this ramen and trying to see when I can go back. Had the Monster Ramen and it was the most flavorful ramen I’ve ever tried. Definitely excited to go back and either get it again or try something else, I’m sure everything they have is just as good.“

“Best Ramen in Chicago. Noodles are the perfect texture, broth is rich and full of umami, and of course the pork is oh so tender and charred. Make sure to add an egg as it doesn’t come with it. Don’t expect spicy ramen cause authentic Japanese ramen isn’t really supposed to be.

I highly recommend a visit cause it is worth the hype. I absolutely love Akahoshi, praise the Ramen Lord! ??“

“Stumbled upon this place on a rainy day and I’m glad. It was a peaceful and cute environment to stop by for a meal. I used the tablet to order, but the worker was kind and friendly and made sure to ask if I needed anything.
I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered two appetizers, the chicken buns and crab rangoon.
The chicken buns had chicken katsu which was a first for me, but they tasted delicious and it had a nice crunch to it. Very flavorful. I am a crab rangoon lover and it passed my flavor profile. Creamy because of the cream cheese, but had enough crab to balance it out.
I look forward to eating here again to try the poke bowl and ramen!“

“I got takeout for dinner, I got the spicy chicken karaage bowl and the handcrafted strawberry drink. Everything was phenomenal, the chicken was still crispy even though it sat for about 20 minutes before I ate it. The chicken was very flavorful and spicy but not too spicy. Also the portions were incredibly large for the price, definitely a very good deal and worth every penny! I would highly recommend!“

Very reasonable prices as well. The most astonishing fact about this restaurant was the host (Quam) his amazing knowledge of food and customer service was unlike any other. The Ice cream desert was mind blowing. You don't have to take my word for it, but I guarantee you, you won't find another Sushi restaurant in the city of Chicago as good this one. “Whenever I rarely go out to ramen restaurants, I end up getting full and finishing my meal. Yet, this restaurant made my expectations skyrocket. The chicken ramen had various flavors while the broth had a bit of spice to it (no problem for me honestly). The spicy szechuan wings were unrelated to the average spicy wings. They were genuinely spicy from the tip of your tongue to mouth. The chicken and vegetable gyoza tasted good but the accompanying sauce clashed with it. At the end of it, there was a QR code to either pay the bill in full or spilt it. Would recommend and will bring my friend from Virginia here.“

“The widest selection of Sushi grade seafood Ive seen on a menu in a Long time- all very fresh and very generously portioned! Octopus and salmon Sashimi were the dessert orders from our kids 😂 We will definetly be returning, and highly recommend. “The food here is so yummy. I've gotten take out here only. Fried chicken with the gochujang sauce, Coconut pho, lemongrass udon, beef udon, chicken katsu udon are SO GOOD. You really can't go wrong. My favorite dumplings are the lemongrass chicken*** and the beef. I would pass on the edamame one in the future. But overall such a good find. Love it!“
