“We were here on a Saturday night (Sept 20th 2025), we had both the spicy miso and spicy tonkotsu. Both extremely flavorful and delicious. Really solid classic tonkotsu, one of the best I’ve had. The service was truly incredible along with the various drinks we had. I couldn’t be more pleased and I recommend anyone that likes ramen to come here! :)“

“Great dining experience today! We came towards the end of the night and the staff was friendly and kind. Service was fast and the vegan ramen was incredible. (I subbed in regular noodles and added an egg) My sister got the regular ramen and said it was some of the best pork she had ever had in ramen.

Had the Monster Ramen and it was the most flavorful ramen I’ve ever tried. “Sat at the counter so I could watch the action. Such a well run kitchen and happy staff. Top tier Toki highballs. I had the December special which was lobster wonton and it was delightful. A perfect marriage of ramen and lobster bisque. The wontons are made in house and had perfect texture. Same with the noodles. Easily the best ramen in Chicago.“

“I just ordered carry out for the first time , I got the salmon don , ramen w steak and miso broth and shrimp skewer w a passion fruit soda .

Everything was very delicious! The miso broth was rich and creamy , the shrimp skewer was really delicious , crispy and in a teriyaki sesame seed sauce, and the salmon don was also very tasty w soft fresh rice and nice seaweed salad on top .
The waitress gave my dog water and was very friendly and packed the order perfectly including drink and soup for me to carry without spilling as I am disabled . I will def be ordering from here again!!“

“Loved the dining experience. Took a dear friend there after Steppenwolf. Her first time there and she loved it! The food was great. The ramen fab. We shared the pork belly mantou buns and the special appetizer. My goto ramen is the 10 hour tonkotsu with sesame chili. My fiend had the special birria ramen. Both were delish. So worth the visit!“

“Best Sushi Restaurant on the planet. Not only was all the food superior than any other Sushi restaurant I've been to. My family and I had a feast.(I mean all the food was good). Very reasonable prices as well. The most astonishing fact about this restaurant was the host (Quam) his amazing knowledge of food and customer service was unlike any other. The Ice cream desert was mind blowing. You don't have to take my word for it, but I guarantee you, you won't find another Sushi restaurant in the city of Chicago as good this one. The ambiance of this establishment is very warm and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for family gatherings, and with people you want to share a special food feast with. “I have loved this spot since it opened. Every time I come the service is great, and so is the food. The belt is included in the all you can eat which is so convenient, and the tempura is top notch. I highly recommend getting the roll with apple in it because it’s not something you see a lot elsewhere, and it adds just a little fresh crunch.“

Oh my goodness. whoever's recipe that is, please give them a massive hug for me right now and say thank you because that was the most delicious thing I've had in so long. What a TREAT! these folks have somehow managed to incorporate happiness as an ingredient in their food, so when you eat it, All the happiness particles travel through your body for 24 to 48 hours and you feel extremely satisfied and fulfilled. you might miss the ramen afterwards, and you might end up having dreams about it like I do but trust me, they're pleasant dreams.“

“I had the coconut curry pho. It was a delicious noodle soup that hit the spot! With a 20% tip, it was about $23. It was definitely pricey but I saw a sign that they provide free meals to children on Mondays. Reading the reviews, I know people were definitely using this offering. If some of my payment went to feeding a child in my community, I was happy to spend it.

I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and my partner ordered the general tso chicken (and we both got some tempura shrimp). The server was so kind and polite and our food was AMAZING. “The widest selection of Sushi grade seafood Ive seen on a menu in a Long time- all very fresh and very generously portioned! Octopus and salmon Sashimi were the dessert orders from our kids 😂 We will definetly be returning, and highly recommend. -extensive boba tea menu
-ramen and poke options
-friendly staff

Cons:
-Poke bowls are small and they skimp on pretty much every single ingredient
-ingredients are old, oftentimes still a little frozen when they are served
-boba itself is pretty mid
-non optional tipping system when paying- if you don’t want to leave an electronic tip, you have to manually put in 0

Honestly the only reason I come to this location is because it’s the only poke and boba place within easy walking distance.“

“Been coming to Yatai frequently for about two years now, and every time it meets or exceeds my expectations. Service is quick and the workers are kind and check in on you frequently to make sure you have everything you need. Prices are fair especially for the portions (rice bowls, fried rice, noodle dishes, etc). My personal favorites from the menu are the crab rangoons and the crunchy sweet potato tempura rolls! BYOB and they’ll provide glasses if you need them! Absolutely love this place, cannot recommend it enough.“
