“I had ordered the sausage & Italian beef slices with fries and I had a great conversation with the man up front while I waited. I was satisfied with the slices I received and the fresh fries that were made from me. Overall great experience?.“

“These guys have been on my list for a while and it was worth the wait. THIS IS PIZZA. Bridgeport phils still has my heart but this place just bumped into the 2/3 spot for me. TOP 3 Chicago pizzeria.

Crust: this is what did it for me. The crust was a perfect thickness and kept its structure/ crisp throughout the whole pizza

Sauce: they’re cooking down their own sauce I believe. It’s got a touch of that fresh tomato sweetness. Nothing over powering, just a great classic sauce

Sausage/cheese: high quality Battaglia products. Traditional cheese blend and good sausage. Nothing crazy in this category but definitely brings their pizza together

“On August 1 at about 7pm I entered Barraco’s. I stood for about 5 to 8 minutes waiting for a hosts to come greet me and my family to be seated. I had my husband walk over to the bar to ask for a host to seat us. While waiting two other people came in and we all stood for another 5 to 8 minutes waiting on a host to arrive. Once the host came and seated us our waiter Joe took over from there. Joe took drink orders, appetizer, and food orders. For drinks I order the pomegranate martini which was OUTSTANDING. For an appetizer we ordered the oysters, Rockefeller they were average. Seemed undercooked because not all the spinach was cooked all the way. For entree we ordered a large pizza half cheese half pepperoni sausage bell peppers onions and mushrooms. After getting the appetizer Joe never returned to ask us how it was and if we needed anything. I had to stop another waiter to ask for napkins. When he finally did come back I made him aware and he said he was servicing 5 other tables. Joe began to set the table and almost dropped the pizza holder and crush peppers on me. When the pizza came out it was wrong he served us a whole pizza with pepperoni sausage bell peppers etc. it was a bummer for my family because I have a 7 year and a one year old. Who didn’t eat that. He apologized but didn’t rectify the issue. It was pass 8 pm now and my family was unsatisfied and I watched as my kids basically threw the slices away by picking off everything. Joe was very apologetic and gave us oysters to go but at 9 pm what can oysters do for my family but sit in the refrigerator. I love this pizza place. I may stick to carry out. For this to be my first experience and I told my husband I wanted to dine in to see the ambience from the inside I was highly disappointed.“

“We had friends in town for the night and knew we would get a good meal and experience at Gaia. We sat outside so had to pause conversation for the passing BNSF and Metra trains, but that is all part of the ambiance. We had the arrancini special appetizer which had the perfect ratio of rice to filling. I had the halibut, and it was perfectly prepared with a piccata sauce and angel hair. Our friends enjoyed that the staff is familiar and all welcoming which adds to the neighborhood feel.“

Located in the Heart of Chicago, this restaurant has some of the finest dishes outside of downtown Chicago, with arguably the best lasagna in the city, as well as some of the best calamari and baked clams, and not to mention the tiramisu. I heard they make other good pastas, some excellent chicken and veal dishes, as well as a phenomenal Lake Superior Whitefish, which I would love to try! “We came here as a large group of 15 and the staff did a great job setting up tables outdoors quickly to accommodate us. The pizza itself was very good, and we all enjoyed the food. Our server seemed fairly new but was really putting in the effort, which we appreciated.

The only downside was that someone nearby was smoking, which took away from the experience since we had a pregnant guest and four very young children with us. The Smoke-Free Illinois Act applies to all outdoor eating and drinking areas, making it illegal to smoke there if employees are present to serve food which they were. The staff did not enforce this law which we felt they should have. We hope management can train their staff on this issue and that the staff enforce it.

All in all it was a good outing and the place has a lot of potential for families and groups.“

I had a one hour layover in midway, and my gate was in another concourse. I felt like it was a small gamble to eat there and make it across the airport in time. But the service was simply top-notch!

The food was good too! The chicken tenders felt like Costco chicken tenders, but they were prepared well. The best part? The chicken wings! Order that appetizer because you won't regret it! The wings were huge for chicken wings! Everyone one had a good deal of meat on them. Really impresses that those giant wings were hiding in an airport.“

“Their pizza is delicious. My family loves pizza. We have tried many is the surrounding area and nothing compares to Guardi's. It has become a staple for take out in my house. Their service is great (I have never arrived and had to wait for my order) and the employees have always been extremely friendly and sufficient. It's worth giving them a try.“

Even though the restaurant was busy, she took such great care of us, made sure we had everything we needed, and even brought a kids’ menu for my child with so much patience. After the meal, she surprised us with delicious green mint chocolates, which my child loved so much that they asked to come back again next time. I was confused. Asked the register lady if she charged me for two and she said no they cut the slice in half and it comes with an extra can of pop. Was charged $14 bucks. Not what I ordered. Pizza and fries are fire tho. AC was on point.“
