“Love this place - cozy neighborhood sports bar atmosphere with truly excellent food, a great rotating beer menu, and very reasonable prices. There are often games or music on, but never so loud that you can't have a conversation. All of the food we've tried has been delicious! Never once had a bad dish or experience! We stopped in on a whim for lunch and quickly became regulars after tasting the burgers, rustic potato salad, and brussel sprouts. There are different daily food specials and a surprising list of high-end options (e.g. Wagyu beef burgers, lamb dip, Mediterranean mushroom sandwich) for such a casual setting. The staff is great, the chef is on point, the beers are frosty, and the meatloaf dinner on Thursday is worth a special visit. If you're looking for a relaxed place to have a great meal, a cold drink, and a conversation, I can't recommend the Old School Tavern enough.

“Went here for the first time. I had the 1/2 lb Classic burger, medium rare, with Pepper Jack cheese and fries. My friend had the Al Pastor tacos. The burger was very well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Fries were wonderful. I normally can't eat a whole 1/2 lb burger. I couldn't stop eating this one. My friends Al Pastor tacos, on a flour tortilla, had a generous amount of meat, more than anywhere else we have been and it tastes fantastic, with just a hint of heat. Our Margaritas, made with Metzcal were delicious.“

“We needed a place to stay close to the Concord music hall, and found the Leavitt St. Inn and Tavern. Every element of our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. The menu at the inn was a purposefully short, curated list of bar food, and everything we tried was incredible. The tavern had a great neighborhood feel, and the room we stayed in was well-appointed, and just right for my wife and me. We met the owners within a few moments of arriving, and immediately felt welcomed. I highly recommend the Leavitt St. Inn and Tavern to anyone looking for a hidden gem of a place to stay while visiting Chicago. We can't wait until we travel north again, because we know where we are staying! 5 stars! A++++“

“We went to the new location on Belmont this last weekend & are so thrilled with our experience. From the service to the drinks and the food, everything was delicious. I ordered the steak sandwich & thought it was fantastic (I like mine cheesy & saucy). My husband ordered the "Da Bears" burger & ate the whole thing. We started with the cheese curds that the table cleared within minutes. Our server was wonderful as well, she was attentive & we never had an empty glass. If you like trying all kinds of martini's, we really enjoyed the "pickletini". Cannot wait to go again & enjoy their patio & try a bloody mary :)“

The food is great (the santi spring rolls is a hit on the salty side however). This spot is not just great as a local spot, but also worth a trip. “This is a really nice spot to hang out. It's quiet enough you can have a conversation and they have sports on the multiple TVs. When the weather is nice, they also have outdoor seating. The bar staff is friendly. They also have probably my favorite food in all of Avondale. I highly recommend the wings or the nachos, but everything I've had is very quality.“

“We went at Christmas time. They decorate the restaurant from the ceiling to the floor in lights. You can't help but get in the festive mood. We did make reservations and we came earlier and they still sat us. The staff was very friendly. I started with a cocktail called the Ramblers Rest. It was tasty. I could really taste the pomegranate notes. For appetizers we got the poutine. It is okay. For dinner I got the chef's wedge salad it was delicious. The homemade ranch dressing and the bacon bits totally made the salad. My hubby got their shepherd's pie. He said it was great. They have Coke products. They have a private area, and plenty of seating options. They have two fire places. I definitely want to go back during the summer. It looks like they have a large patio. Oh and they have a no stroller rule in the restaurant.

The Chevaps are tasty, the chicken schnitzel is out of this world and the smash burger is by FAR the best burger I have ever tasted. “A quaint Mediterranean family owned restaurant with the best food and Turkish coffee. We had cevaps (kabobs) in homemade bread and sopska salad made with fresh tomatoes and cucumbers that seemed fresh tasting even during winter season. The Turkish coffee was better than anywhere else that I tried in other ethnic restaurants. The owners were also very cordial and it was a pleasure to meet and speak with them about their journey. Definitely a place worth the to visit if in the area.“

Personally, I do not think there is a food establishment that the servers and bartenders seem like great friends, both with each other and with patrons. “The vibes were really great! The dj was awesome they played a great mix of music that night (Friday). Everybody was having a good time, people were dancing and enjoying themselves. I ordered the tenders dipped in a honey garlic sauce, the smoke burger, and key lime pie. Everything was good, the tenders were juicy and nice sizes, the meat on the burger was seasoned and had great flavor. The key lime pie though! It came with a cherry like reduction (sauce) with walnuts, I wasn't expecting it to taste that good. I ate the whole thing before I tried the food 🤷🏾‍♀️ I'll be back.“

Parking: Free Street parking, never had an issue. You can park across the street in the bank parking lot when it's closed, don't park there when the bank is open!“
