Freaking excellent owners operating an awesome small business that will help you start the day off right!! Excellent fresh baked goods and donuts are amazing!! I never experienced the bakery with the old ownership-so I can’t speak to the history, but the bakery is a must-stop in the morning when passing through Fox Lake!
Village Bakery did a fantastic job with my daughter’s bridal shower cookies!! They tasted great and the designs they created for our theme were perfect, clever and fun! Highly recommend this shop!
Can't recommend them any longer. I stopped in this morning for an apple fritter. What I got tasted burned and was obviously not fresh. It should have been written off as waste, not sold to a customer. At least it was served with a smile.

Based on the reviews, The Village Bakery is an awesome small business with excellent owners. The fresh baked goods and donuts are amazing, and the danish, pastries, and donuts are incredible. The sourdough loaf and chocolate croissants are delicious and fresh. The bakery did a fantastic job with a daughter’s bridal shower cookies, which tasted great with perfect, clever, and fun designs. A 90th Birthday sheet cake came out decorated beautifully and exactly as ordered. The donuts are other-worldly, with a Maple Bacon Long John, Nutella-Stuffed Donut, Pistachio Cream-Filled Croissant, Chocolate Croissant, two Éclairs, and a Cinnamon Crunch Loaf. Every single one was mind-blowing with flavors dialed in and textures perfect. Everyone is so friendly, and service is fast. This is a great little local spot that also sells bread and has a little fridge with fancy looking cake. It is a must-stop in the morning when passing through Fox Lake.
