“This was the first time at this location!! I have been to the Avondale location before and I am very excited that the burbs get to experience this place! Upon arrival we were greeted during a busy lunch time! The food here is always delicious! I decided to go away from my normal order and get the spicy chicken tendies and they did not disappoint!“

“Worth the wait and must try! Beautiful and unique venue in the unassuming town of Des Plaines. Our server was kind and welcoming, food was delicious, drinks were fun and tasty. The only two items that were less than ideal, the horrible acoustics (incredibly loud) and although it was too on my list to try, the chicken shawarma rolls were underwhelming. Even with those two items, the great service and food quality it's still worth the 5 star review. We sat upstairs, which very much appreciated, being out of the hustle and bustle of the downstairs. Looking forward to trying the brunch and the outside patio... overlooking the water.“

“Came in on a Monday to catch up with a friend and this was the perfect destination. We got there on the early side and enjoyed a glass of wine from and excellent wine list 1 a lot of unique offerings. Our waitress was great, letting us taste a small sip before selecting our wine. We moved on to the pumpkin seed hummus; delish and unique. Wish it was served with fresh rather than oiled/buttered toast but it was still delish. I opened for the zucchini noodles as a main and also enjoyed. The restaurant is bright and airy, when the weather warms up the patio looks lovely.“

“The coolest bar in Rogers Park! They have a small but fun cocktail selection, great beer & cider selection, super super friendly staff and the best vibes. They have no food but you are allowed to bring any takeout you want or you can directly order to your table from any restaurant you want. Such chill vibes honestly. We were here as a huge group last week for our friends birthday party (about 40 of us) and our waiter has been a saint with taking sssoooo many orders and hand delivering them to the correct person, and with the most fun attitude too! “My husband and I were in Chicago for a convention a couple of weeks ago. While I was getting ready for the day he was watching the news and says to me "we need to try this place". As y'all know from my other reviews he is a pizza perfectionist :) On the morning spotlight segment was this place called Whiskey Girl Tavern and they were talking how they are known for their hot honey pepperoni pizza and chicken tenders (which sell out).We didn't get to go to it that day and the next day we kept debating between that one and Robert's pizza which had been recommended. Well he couldn't get the image of their pizza out of his mind, so we hopped in a Uber and took the 25min ride to check it out.We sat at the best seat in the house ... the corner bar where we had the pleasure of meeting and talking to the best bar manager, Phil!! I ordered the Spill That Spicy T Margarita made with their homemade pineapple, jalapeño mix. It was the perfect balance.. of heat, sweetness (I don't do sweet) perfect touch of smoke from the mezcal and finished with a tahini rim ... omg I can't stop thinking about it!!!! To start we ordered the fried pickles which were the perfect size and lightly breaded .. delicious .Now the main event .. the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza. Let's talk about the crust which in our opinion will make or break a pizza. We love thin crust with a nice char , not burnt which is a fine line. We needed to be in that small 2 person kitchen at the end of the bar to see how on God's green earth they have perfected this pizza crust!! And who doesn't love cupped pepperonis? I personally feel these should be on every pepperoni pizza instead of those big greasy ones. I just can't say enough about how delicious this was!!!While talking to Phil my husband tells him how we heard about it and that we took the drive to check them out. Phil tells us we have to meet and tell the owners. We met Heather and Christina who were beyond thrilled and sweet to have us there. It's a small world bcs while talking with them we find out that during Covid they didn't want to be locked down in the cold and bought a place 30/40 minutes from us !! They opened the tavern about 2 years ago and just recently purchased the old pool hall next door. They showed us around and it was so cool with an old school vibe with some brown leather couches, pool table and a nice size bar that had just opened that day.If have read this far , THANK YOU! And when in Chicago please go check them out you will not be disappointed I promise!!I am sooo glad and sad that we found this place and believe everything happens for a reason. Glad bcs it was (no joke) the best pizza I have had in a long time and sad bcs I can't stop thinking about it now that I am back home in Tampa!! lolUntil next time“

“A friend brought me here for my birthday. It is a bit loud inside, but it is neat and clean with nice decor, lots of plants. :) the menu is all vegan, and has a variety of food styles. The appetizers are generous and good to share. While the entree portions are small, we did not leave hungry. “Thanks to Open Table, we made our first visit to Scotty's and we're glad we did. We were greeted warmly and well cared for by Jay and others. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. I had the Chicken Milanese, which will be even better once tomatoes are in season and my husband loved his Walleye and Mussels (a special) and his profiteroles.“

The Skokie Chamber recently had an event at Take Flight and there were only positive remarks about the ambiance, atmosphere, location, and drinks served. She was an excellent cocktail coach explaining how to make delicious cocktails with their in house distilled liquor. PLUS- t *think* you can bring food in from @Village Inn around the corner! “Wanted to love it more. Lots of rapport between staff and patrons so it’s clearly a real local regulars place. Tables are packed in tightly. Felt like I was in the space of the couple behind us especially when I stood up.Beef bourguignon was very pretty but underseasoned. No detectable red wine taste to the sauce or meat. Beet salad was declared “fine.” We started with the spring rolls which were good and the potstickers .. good except the sauce with ketchup and sweet chili notes was a bit overpowering. All the appetizers on the menu were Asian except focaccia and soup. Desserts were enjoyed. Cocktails were good.Funny to see menu highlights in google maps include tiramisu, scallops, and hangar steak, none of which were on offer during our visit.“

“Such a spectacular space! I am the client concierge for a financial group & we held a cocktail party for some of our clients in the Soto Room private bar last night. Our staff & guests loved the experience! I heard many good things about the smoked Old Fashioned & was very impressed with the serving vessel. So cool! The pizza was also delicious. New Haven style pizza might just be my new favorite! We can’t say enough good things about the space & talent behind the bar. Mike was wonderful to work with, very kind, quick & considerate in his approach. I look forward to our next visit!“

“This is a cool spot in Highwood. Nothing really stands out as exceptional, but everything was pretty good.I got the rueban sandwich because we were there on St Patrick's Day. It was ok. The plain French fries were very average, but the truffle fries were much better.The calamari was good, but the other appetizers were not so much. The goat cheese was bland and the crab cakes were small and mushy.I had an alcohol free cocktail and it was good, but not $9 good.The cheeseburger and chicken sandwich were both loved by our dining partners.The service was pretty slow, but I'm sure they were under staffed since it was a holiday weekend.“

“Great spot to have in PR! Moving into the neighborhood from city and having something like this close by vs driving into downtown and then looking for parking is a no brainer. This place has an elegant/victorian look and a definite city vibe. You do realize your in suburbia do to most of the clientele, but, it's still a nice pop-in for a date night starter or a great location before ending the night. I did notice the place did attract 20-30 something groups, which was nice to see. Also the drinks were created with a mixologist style that almost resembled the Violet Hour Speak Easy in Wicker Park. “I got the poke and one of their signature cocktails. The salmon poke was very fresh and has a good balance of flavors. We were able to get a table with some shade. It is great to be able to eat outside on the rooftop but also feel away from the street. They have an elevator to the roof and you can have a choice of chairs with arms and without. I forgot my phone when I left and they had it waiting for me at the bar downstairs after I called. Great service! We did get there about 3pm for dinner so it wasn't crowded.Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator at the back wall when you walk in on the ground floor. You will share the elevator with staff as they go to and from the kitchen to the roof top.“

It is close to and therefore is popular with Northwestern students but it has a diverse mixture of students and locals with easy access to parking and CTA/L purple line station at Noyes. The wait is no long and the service is no-nonsense. Dave's Italian kitchen and D&D are also in the same area if you're looking for Pizza or a good breakfast sandwich - both are solid. “A friend and I met up at this spot after a quick Google search for something halfway. Great spot for a private hangout and fun atmosphere, beautiful views. Although we had reservations outside, it was colder than we anticipated and we were easily accomidated at the bar. We had a great time with Mae! Will return.“
