“Quiet hole in the wall spot with some of the best food in the area. The owner is kind and works really hard to make quality food. A lot of Chinese American restaurants can have a sort of mass produced feel and use the same suppliers but you can tell a lot of love and pride goes into the food here.“

Boba and fruit smoothies and milk tea are so good. i got mango nature smoothies. brown sugar milk tea and coconut milk tea. oh my god. And there’s a big sofa is like heaven. It’s so cozy I was falling asleep I felt so welcomed and wanna def come back here again. He also offered us free sample of smoothies for us to try to see if we like it or not. “Bluegrass Restaurant is a wonderful, family-owned restaurant. We have been ordering takeout and eating in since we came to Highland Park three years ago. The owners take pride in managing the restaurant on a daily basis. They prioritize customer service, great food, and a warm, welcoming experience. Last night, they hosted the Highland Park/Highwood Professional Moms group. We had only expected 15 women to attend, but 25 women ended up coming. The owners and the staff were AMAZING. They brought over additional chairs. They provided us with top-notch service, including separate checks. They respected us when we were speaking to the group and quietly took orders in the background. I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant.“

“As a Korean, i think this place has the best 해물파전 (seafood pancake). I truly loved how crispy it was without being greasy, and how packed it was with juicy vegetables and a generous amount of seafood. Everyone should order it here!

We also got the fish roe and spicy cod soups which were perfect in the cold winter weather.

The people here are very friendly and we had a great meals thanks to them! Would definitely recommend this place for authentic good Korean food in Chicago :)“

“Unbelievably fantastic. Every bit of this meal was so tasty. The meat was very tender, usually not a fan of plain white rice but even the plain rice by itself was somehow flavorful. Great portion sizes too, this was like 2.5 meals for me and I spent $10 on the lunch special. Wow“

“The food is delicious here and the people who work here are even better. I was eating in yesterday and there was a man who came inside who I believe was asking for work- he was washing windows. The owner or manager said they have a company that does it. So he could not give him the business. The man appeared to be a little unkept and possibly struggling. The owner asked if he was hungry and the man replied yes, he ended up making him fresh food and he left with a bag of food and some water. This interaction was so special and I truly hope their kindness is delivered back to them indefinitely. “Ate there for the first time tonight. I am vegan and my husband is an Omni. Chef Bill came out and waited on us personally, and gave us menu recommendations, all of which were delicious! The ambiance was so relaxing and peaceful; it was a nice respite from a busy day and I didn’t want to leave. Reasonably priced as well: shared appetizer, two teas, two entrees, and two desserts was $60. Will definitely be back for many more dinners!“

“What a great meal and service at Pasta D'Arte Trattoria Italiana!

To start, the drinks were solid—a nicely balanced Manhattan on the rocks and generous pours on the wines by the glass. Our group of four shared the Caprese Salad and Caesar Salad, both excellent and plenty to go around.

For entrées, we enjoyed the Linguini Del Mare, Pumpkin Ravioli, Osso Buco, and Walleye Alla Piccata. Everyone loved their dishes! Note that the tomato-based sauces have a nice spicy kick from red pepper—we really enjoyed it, but if you prefer milder, I assume they can likely accommodate.

The attentive and knowledgeable service made the experience even better, guiding us through choices nicely. Free valet on a busy Saturday night was a plus as well, and the overall vibe was welcoming.

My only complaint: the place gets very noisy on a packed Saturday night, making conversation tough without raising your voice. It's that lively, bustling trattoria energy, though!

The menu features many classics but their specials menu is where it's at, and rotates throughout the year. But their matcha is the best and has officially made me a matcha lover. Also love their small but delicious baked goods options, which include gluten free muffins! Great atmosphere, plenty of seating, and typically quiet atmosphere with easy parking, but can get quite busy at peak times, especially weekends.“

“We have discovered this place 3 years ago when we are searching for an outdoor casual dining. What we found was a great place that had outdoor seating on a deck patio with umbrellas and a TV set to watch sporting events. The service was friendly, and the food was great. The drinks were very reasonable. The menu was large having everything from sandwiches to dinners. We never had a bad experience there and brought family and friends to enjoy the evening sitting outside. We always come back.“
