“Ella’s Grill is such a friendly, amazing, hidden gem in Illinois. Me and my aunt went here and we were immediately greeted with the smell of fresh cooked meats and sweet pastries. I wish I knew the waitresses name because the service was incredible! She had dream catcher earrings and a black flower in her hair. She greeted us as soon as we came in and throughout the entire time we were there she was very efficient and always smiling! I got the Country Skillet and it was incredibly tasty with creamy gravy and such good potato’s! The coffee is super good as-well and the orange juice was super tasty. When we asked for the check the kind waitress gave us a warm smile and a piece of candy as she thanked us. As we left the cook thanked us as-well and was very nice to us. I couldn’t recommend this place more and it is now my new favourite breakfast place! Thanks Ella’s Grill!!!! ❤️❤️❤️“

“Bluegrass Restaurant is a wonderful, family-owned restaurant. We have been ordering takeout and eating in since we came to Highland Park three years ago. The owners take pride in managing the restaurant on a daily basis. They prioritize customer service, great food, and a warm, welcoming experience. Last night, they hosted the Highland Park/Highwood Professional Moms group. We had only expected 15 women to attend, but 25 women ended up coming. The owners and the staff were AMAZING. They brought over additional chairs. They provided us with top-notch service, including separate checks. They respected us when we were speaking to the group and quietly took orders in the background. I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant.“

“We were so excited to have found this new place for yummy sushi poke bowl! We adore that modernized look of the restaurant and there are a lot of variety of poke bowls to choose from. My boys like the mushroom and California rolls sushi while I enjoyed the spicy hot fish poke bowl a lot. The staff and owner were super friendly and nice. The place was stylish, neat and clean. The sashimi was fresh and delicious! The food was served fast and the price was reasonable too. We are definitely coming back!“

“The food is delicious here and the people who work here are even better. I was eating in yesterday and there was a man who came inside who I believe was asking for work- he was washing windows. The owner or manager said they have a company that does it. So he could not give him the business. The man appeared to be a little unkept and possibly struggling. The owner asked if he was hungry and the man replied yes, he ended up making him fresh food and he left with a bag of food and some water. This interaction was so special and I truly hope their kindness is delivered back to them indefinitely. Please support this local business and kind individuals who make our world a better, softer, kinder place to be in! EAT HERE!“

“My husband and I came in tonight for 4 flights for our family. The place smelled amazing, the staff was welcoming and friendly. “These folks definitely know how to make amazing fries 🍟🔥 Not only do they have a perfect golden color, but they also stay impressively crispy even after sitting for about 10–15 minutes while I was out in the cold ❄️👌 That crunch didn’t fade at all, which really says a lot about the quality. “Hubs and I came last night for an impromptu date night. The holiday décor was absolutely beautiful, you can tell a lot of effort and attention went into it. The staff were all super friendly and helpful! We arrived during the dinner rush, and given it’s the holiday season, I’m sure there’s an uptick in guests, but we were still seated within about 15–20 minutes, which was impressive. There is a one-hour dining limit during this season, I understand they’re turning tables quickly to accommodate everyone, especially having worked in the industry myself. However, I was really disappointed that every single item we ordered was cold. I don’t usually like to complain, so I didn’t mention it at the time, assuming it was just due to how busy the restaurant was. But after reading other reviews, it seems this may be a recurring issue, which is unfortunate. I’m not sure I would return, but on a positive note, the atmosphere was lovely and the staff were wonderful. Hopefully they can work with the kitchen to make sure the food is served hot, because everything else about the experience was great!“

I’m a loyal customer I’ve been eating here since they’ve opened. Very fast delivery of the food and staff will also ask to take your trash for you! 100% would recommend eating here for any occasion.“

“Quiet hole in the wall spot with some of the best food in the area. The owner is kind and works really hard to make quality food. A lot of Chinese American restaurants can have a sort of mass produced feel and use the same suppliers but you can tell a lot of love and pride goes into the food here.“

“I came on opening weekend, the staff was exteemely friendly and the Ice cream was AMAZING! I was surprised by the large flavor selection and the dairy free offerings. My favorite flavor is mint chocolate chip, they offered it in both dairy free and regular! I personally love the cute waffle cookie that came with my dish. This will be a regular spot for me and my family!“
