“We have discovered this place 3 years ago when we are searching for an outdoor casual dining. What we found was a great place that had outdoor seating on a deck patio with umbrellas and a TV set to watch sporting events. The service was friendly, and the food was great. The drinks were very reasonable. The menu was large having everything from sandwiches to dinners. We never had a bad experience there and brought family and friends to enjoy the evening sitting outside. We always come back.“

“We love these cookies! The chocolate chip is always a family favorite but we like the fun of the variety too. Curbside or delivery service are a huge plus!

Kid-friendliness: Nowhere to eat inside. But the flavors are always exciting for the kids. Especially the extras like shark gummies.“

“I'm not sure why this place has such bad reviews, Ron of Japan has been consistently good for many years and the food is delicious. I went for my birthday and got the Shogun special with filet mignon and lobster, which is a multi-course meal. Everything we had a seasoned and cooked to perfection, and of course, you have to try the Egg sauce on your food and you can always ask for extra. I'd also recommend getting the beef fried rice instead of the white rice with your meal. Yes, it's expensive to have premium food that's cooked in front of you, and you may have to sit with others that you don't know, but this meal is worthwhile.“

“Bluegrass Restaurant is a wonderful, family-owned restaurant. We have been ordering takeout and eating in since we came to Highland Park three years ago. The owners take pride in managing the restaurant on a daily basis. They prioritize customer service, great food, and a warm, welcoming experience. Last night, they hosted the Highland Park/Highwood Professional Moms group. We had only expected 15 women to attend, but 25 women ended up coming. The owners and the staff were AMAZING. They brought over additional chairs. They provided us with top-notch service, including separate checks. They respected us when we were speaking to the group and quietly took orders in the background. I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant.“

“As a Korean, i think this place has the best 해물파전 (seafood pancake). I truly loved how crispy it was without being greasy, and how packed it was with juicy vegetables and a generous amount of seafood. Everyone should order it here!

We also got the fish roe and spicy cod soups which were perfect in the cold winter weather.

The people here are very friendly and we had a great meals thanks to them! Would definitely recommend this place for authentic good Korean food in Chicago :)“

“What a great meal and service at Pasta D'Arte Trattoria Italiana!

To start, the drinks were solid—a nicely balanced Manhattan on the rocks and generous pours on the wines by the glass. Our group of four shared the Caprese Salad and Caesar Salad, both excellent and plenty to go around.

For entrées, we enjoyed the Linguini Del Mare, Pumpkin Ravioli, Osso Buco, and Walleye Alla Piccata. Everyone loved their dishes! Note that the tomato-based sauces have a nice spicy kick from red pepper—we really enjoyed it, but if you prefer milder, I assume they can likely accommodate.

The attentive and knowledgeable service made the experience even better, guiding us through choices nicely. Free valet on a busy Saturday night was a plus as well, and the overall vibe was welcoming.

My only complaint: the place gets very noisy on a packed Saturday night, making conversation tough without raising your voice. It's that lively, bustling trattoria energy, though!

The menu features many classics but their specials menu is where it's at, and rotates throughout the year. But their matcha is the best and has officially made me a matcha lover. Also love their small but delicious baked goods options, which include gluten free muffins! Great atmosphere, plenty of seating, and typically quiet atmosphere with easy parking, but can get quite busy at peak times, especially weekends.“

Heaters were installed ON the awnings, which covered the entire table, and not just on a tall pole on part of the table.
