“My husband and I are visiting from Arizona and were meeting some friends in The Glen. We planned on going to The Yardhouse, but thought it was too noisy. Saw the reviews for The Oak and we were so glad we did. The burger I had was the best burger I have ever had, our friend felt the same. My husband and our other friend had the rueben, they loved them also. We left the restaurant and we were going to take individual pics, then this really nice guy offered to take a picture of all of us. He was so very nice. Guess what, he was the owner. We will definitely be back on our next visit here and our friends will be back sooner. Great food!!!!“
“Great place. Very friendly staff.“

“Absolutely love this place. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, the specialty cocktails are super creative, and Molly is an absolute joy to get your drinks from. Great location, too, being right off the Morse red line stop. Only downside is that sometimes it gets pretty loud but at least there's outdoor seating too!“

“Wow. I had the soup/stew. It was great. Don't miss the garden. Koi pond. Lester the owner has stories. This is where waiters and waitresses go.“
“This has been my friend's and my go to Karaoke spot near the city for years.
The rooms are nice, clean, and well decorated.
The music selection is great and I love that they give you the option of using either the traditional Korean Karaoke machine or just using YouTube.
While the drinks at the bar are pricey, they do allow outside food which is definitely a plus.
The staff there has always been kind and attentive. Never had any problems.
Even though the parking lot is quite small, I've personally never struggled with parking.
Overall great karaoke spot and will continue to come back.“
“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We celebrated my mom’s birthday at Field House in Deerfield and it was honestly such a special experience from start to finish.
The atmosphere is beautiful—warm, inviting, and perfect for both an intimate family dinner or a bigger celebration. From the moment we walked in, the team made us feel so welcomed and taken care of, which made the night even more meaningful.
The food completely exceeded expectations. Everything we ordered was incredible—from the homemade cheese curds (a must!) to the nachos, and my personal favorite, the lobster gnocchi. The menu truly has something for everyone, and every dish felt thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor.
What really stood out was how accommodating and kind everyone was while we celebrated. They made my mom feel so special, and that’s something we’ll always remember.
If you’re looking for a place that delivers amazing food, great energy, and a genuinely memorable experience, Field House is it. We’ll absolutely be back.“
“A great spot to hangout and grab a drink.“
“Sovereign is the best type of Chicago dive. Cheap beer, good people, best jukebox you'll find. Much love to them for letting my band do a fundraiser for my buddy's medical bills. The crowd, the staff, and the regulars dug deep and we've covered medication costs for the next couple month“

“We have discovered this place 3 years ago when we are searching for an outdoor casual dining. What we found was a great place that had outdoor seating on a deck patio with umbrellas and a TV set to watch sporting events. The service was friendly, and the food was great. The drinks were very reasonable. The menu was large having everything from sandwiches to dinners. We never had a bad experience there and brought family and friends to enjoy the evening sitting outside. We always come back.“
“Great, friendly, neighborhood bar. Jimmy will make you feel like you've been friends forever. Not usually open on Sundays, but Jimmy will open specially for Bears games, and you might also get to sample his homemade chili, sloppy joes, or maybe even some Little Caesar's pizza! ?“
“Loved Jarvis Square—what a hidden gem! The neighborhood vibe is so inviting, and the Wednesday open mic night is an absolute highlight. I really appreciated that the first five performance spots are set aside for queer voices—such a thoughtful and inclusive gesture. Drinks are well priced, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the energy is warm and supportive. I’ll definitely be back! Cash Only.“

“Erin was our server and was awesome. The chicken sandwich I had was amazing. The Mexican corn side was also amazing. My father had a burger which was huge and he said delicious. I will definitely come back again.“
“This is one of those rare first-time stops that you make in life. You have a beverage, the clientele and staff make you feel welcome, & soon you're part of this warm, friendly family. Stay well!“

““The Gallery made my wife’s surprise 75th birthday celebration absolutely unforgettable. Cecilia handled every detail with warmth and professionalism—helping me find a photographer, musician, flowers, and balloons that made the evening shine. Guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres followed by a beautifully paced five-course dinner, complete with honey-inspired cocktails (using our own honey!) and a honey mustard salad dressing the chef created just for us. The food, wine pairings, and service were all outstanding—friendly, polished, and perfectly timed. The room’s unpretentious elegance and local artwork created the ideal setting for a night full of laughter, connection, and joy. Mission accomplished!”“
“Love this spot so much! Just moved to the neighborhood and it truly adds so much to the environment. The bar tenders are lovely to talk to and very talented, their signature cocktails are balanced and delicious. Ask for the pandan highball it’s to die for! It is a very small space, but very clean and cozy. Perfect to impress a date for sure.“
“I just took my 12 year old nephew here as a surprise adventure. The place is amazing! It’s well laid out. There is plenty to do for every one. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond. And the prices are reasonable for both games and the bar. We will definitely be back.“
“Monday Blues Lounge is the perfect vibe for winding down! I absolutely love the live music, soft lights, and cozy atmosphere; it feels like the perfect escape after a long day. The staff is always warm and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. My favorite drinks are the blackberry martini and the espresso martini, both are must-tries! Highly recommend this spot!! Especially on a Monday night!“

“spots in the area to watch a Bears game. The energy is perfect — TVs everywhere, great sound, and the crowd actually feels like a community.
The food is consistently great (way above typical bar food), and it’s obvious the ownership really cares about the place. You can tell in the details — the place is spotless, from the front tables to the bathrooms, and everything feels well run.
The bartenders are fast, friendly, and know their stuff, whether you’re ordering a draft, a cocktail, or just asking what’s good to eat. Service is always quick even when it’s packed, and you never feel ignored.
If you’re looking for a clean, well-run bar with great food, great service, and the perfect setup for a Bears Sunday, Filonek’s is the spot.“
“Great classic Chicago Tavern with a pool table, live music and a fun blues jam on Tuesday nights!“
“service here has been very good and it's a very very comfortable vibe. the atmosphere is like a low key sports bar - not quite dive like described in some reviews. the taps have a decent selection at good prices. probably wouldn't show up with a cocktail dinner but would love to see a cocktail on draft - could probably get my cocktail people in there if they added that. backdoor pseudo patio - but I've only been there January - April so maybe they add furniture? all else, will definitely return.“
“What a great local spot! Love hanging here with a group of friends and playing pool and darts! Regulars make me feel right at home, as well as the friendly bartenders! highly recommend!“
“Great bar to hang out and they even do private parties.“

“Never heard of this place but caught sight of it on the way to Superdawg. Looked like a good place for after lunch drink. Perfect corner bar. Pretty crowded actually but you can tell how friendly a place is when they make room for you. Great bar, everyone was happy, service was great. Lots of TVs and not overly loud. Great bar.“

“Took a trip out to the area, decided to stop here to eat on the way home. Wow we were delighted. Chris was great and made me literally the best amaretto sour ever. I got the pan roast and my partner got the gumbo. Huge portions. So delicious.“
“I miss this place. It was my regular spot in 2007 & 2008 before I moved back to California. Very diverse crowd of regulars from different walks of life, but everyone knew each other. Jim is awesome. If I could still give him my money for alcohol, I would.“
“Mark II Lounge has that classic dive-bar charm that feels instantly comfortable. It’s low-key, a little gritty in the best way, and perfect for a casual night out. The drinks are strong and affordable, and the atmosphere feels relaxed and unpretentious. There’s usually a good mix of regulars and newcomers, which keeps the vibe friendly and easygoing. If you’re looking for a no-frills neighborhood bar in Chicago where you can just unwind, Mark II Lounge definitely fits the bill.“
“I love all the people here! ?????? I came here to celebrate ? Cinco De Mayo. And they all were so sweet. If you do decide to go just make sure you take cash....they don't accept credit/ debit cards. They're drinks are reasonable and cozy vibes. (Updated 2024: AND STILL GOOD VIBES)“
“To be totally honest, I wasn't fully prepared for Silvana’s. It’s difficult to find because the front door is plain with no signage… at least that we could find. Everything inside is humble - the place and the people. My Spanish is very bad, but everyone was so very nice and it wasn’t a problem. You do need to bring cash. My friends and I truly did have a great time, and next time I’m in the neighborhood, I’ll be stopping by. Go! You’ll have a great time!“
“Decided not to be a sad sack alone by myself on Christmas Eve and made my second visit here last night. My first time back in November was perfectly nice, very quiet, good drinks, just a few groups chatting idly. But last night the place was decked out to the nines in all manner of fabulous Christmas decor—including Brandon the bartender in a reindeer onesie—and packed with an array of patrons bringing some really great energy.
The 3 gin and tonics and mystery peppermint shot Brandon made me were not only excellent, but lasted me well until 4 am, all for a fraction of what it would have cost at other bars.
Really was just a lovely few hours I spent here, especially the conversation. It's very refreshing to go to a bar where you can actually hear people and make real connections rather than shouting at each other.
Altogether a great little spot, truly a hidden gem to have just a train stop away, and I will definitely be back!“

“Great, warm interior. Semi-circular tufted seat banquets and wall tables. Ask for server Ned B. Wine and ales very good. An order of Burrata came w toasted rolls, roasted tomato and pesto. Very good. Fried Calamari was nicely cooked and had a side of ginger dipping sauce, also good.Surprised at the 15% meals tax. I’m from out of state.“

“Visiting from another State, and needed a night cap to help me sleep. Great Atmosphere and friendly staff. Nobody bothered me either. Beer was $4.00, and I thought that was cheap despite it being Chicago and I only pay $3.25 at home. Would definitely recommend 👌“
