Was warmly greeted by bartender and owner.We been to Don Juan's several times and everything was top notch.They have hightop tables, seating at the bar and regular chairs for seating of groups of 4 or more.Festive music and ambiance! “If you've never been here this is your sign to try it! It's in the heart of park ridge and honestly what an amazing Mexican restaurant! My husband and I discovered this a decade ago and we constantly come here to eat and celebrate our birthdays with some amazing Mexican food! We love getting their tortas and taco salad and on top of that the inside of this restaurant is beautiful we love it and everyone who works there is so sweet! Such a worthy place to check out!!!!“

“My journey to Warlord, located in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood, began with a long commute from the Gold Coast. Arriving at 5:39 pm, we were met with the unfortunate news of a 3-hour wait.After returning home and headed back, we waited an additional hour (4 hours). For that, Connor, a true man of his word, secured us the coveted chef's table seats.Nick, our server, was both friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall positive experience at the chef's counter. The atmosphere at Warlord is truly captivating, creating a memorable dining experience.However, while the service and ambiance were exceptional, the food itself fell short of expectations.The steak was "earthy," and left something to be desired. The burger, lacking cheese and failing to surpass the renowned Au Cheval offering, was also disappointing. Even the toast with truffle, while decent, only managed a mediocre rating of 7/10.While the staff and atmosphere create an unforgettable experience, significant improvement is needed in the food department to truly match the outstanding service and ambiance.“

“I will absolutely be returning to this restaurant. Highly recommend it either for a date night or a fun group outing. Their drinks and margaritas were all delicious and not too sweet. The flight of Mezcal was a great experience. I love mezcal but never had tried different kinds before. The waitress was attentive and nice. The chicken poblano enchiladas were delicious, highly recommend! We also ordered the guacamole trio and ceviche appetizers which isn't pictured because we devoured them pretty quickly.“

“TL;DR - If you’re even slightly thinking about coming here, just do it. Revolution has the best beer in the city, fantastic food, and incredible staff.A lot of breweries in Chicago excel in making their one or two specialty styles of beer, and that’s it. Revolution, on the other hand, is able to guarantee high quality and incredibly drinkable beer across just about every style you can think of. I normally hate those dark, boozy, 15+% ABV beers, yet I drink every single one that Rev puts out and I love it. Their “Hero”-series IPAs will make even the biggest IPA hater second guess their hatred. And their sours (usually released during the summer) are so good, you will question how something this good can be alcoholic. Revolution doesn’t put out a beer that isn’t incredible, so you can pick a beer at random and be sure to enjoy it.Recently, the Brewpub renovated their space and, with it, re-did a lot of their menu. The space is cozy, yet upscale (the seating is significantly comfier than it once was with new plush seating). The new food is also really high quality - much higher than you would expect from a brewery. A lot of detail is put into plating and presentation (Mushrooms & Tofu, for example, looks like a piece of art), and still it tastes somehow even better than it looks. In addition to more upscale menu items, you’re also able to get a lot of that “typical” bar food here that fully delivers (pretzel, cheese curds, fries, etc.). The only gripe I could possibly have here is on the pricing of some of the food. This does not apply to the whole menu though, just some items that feel like they are priced higher than they should be (e.g. Lion’s Mane mushrooms, a starter, costs the same as the Mushrooms & Tofu, an entree, despite being significantly less food and sharing some similar ingredients. Why?!). If you can view this less as a bar and more like a nicer restaurant (which, with the renovation completed, is easy to do), then the pricing is a lot more palatable.The ambiance, food, and drinks are all great, but it’s the staff at Revolution that keeps me coming back though. They’re all so friendly, personable, passionate, and professional - they are the kind of people that make your night out feel special. My fiancé and I have celebrated birthdays, engagements, job offers, anniversaries, and so much more here because of how wonderful the staff are in celebrating and creating such a fun environment to be in. They make Revolution a place we want to go whenever we want to have a good time out. There are just too many people to name (Magnolia, Drake, Erwin, Makenna, Amy, Matt, just to name a few) - but rest assured that we love just about everyone who has served us here. So much so, that my fiancé and I are getting married here later this year!This is the easiest 5 stars I have ever handed out. I have so little to say about places that are “meh”, so the length of this review should show how much I love it here. I’ve come here at least every week for the last 2+ years, and I don’t have any intention of slowing down anytime soon. If you’re still reading this, please stop reading and start drinking, and do it at the Brewpub! You won’t regret it!Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options here. Standouts include the veggie burger (vegan by default), Mushrooms & Tofu (vegan), and a delicious pretzel with beer cheese (vegetarian and oh so good).“

“We came by to Moe's after hearing about an advertisement for a special brunch event, and we were floored by the wonderful people running this place! They were very friendly and inviting, and held a simple but classic brunch with mimosas and the atmosphere was kind and caring! We haven't been to it in the evening as a bar, but this brunch special is something they'd like to run monthly and we'll worth it!“

“This place offers the most quintessential neighborhood bar feel with more than a few trucks up it's sleeve. From the best smash burger you will ever have in your life (only $6), to Angostura shots, to a booze filled mint green shake you cannot finish, this bar has it all. The staff are happy and have a good vibe between each other which made me feel happy to be there. The place was absolutely packed but no one was rude or pushy. Just a great vibe over all with great drinks and great food. Definitely recommend.“

“I love this place! The music is always good and the drinks are great. I do have to say that the bouncer/ door guy absolutely kills the vibe from the second you arrive. He is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of five. I’m sure if you go when it’s less busy and he’s not there it would be a flawless experience. But this guy is constantly making remarks about other people and pissing people off before you go inside. He makes me so uncomfortable that the last time I was there I didn’t even want to wait in the bathroom line behind him bc I didn't want to have to deal with whatever he was going go say.“

“This is my absolute favorite neighborhood bar. They have Aviary style cocktails at Portage Park prices and amazing culinary fare. They have the best happy hour specials, and the staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The atmosphere wins the vibe check, and their music is always on point. Not that basic top 20 ish. I hosted my birthday party at their downstairs bar, which has a totally different cocktail menu. Our guests loved the venue and said the service was top notch. The owners are great!“

“Sleeping Village is a wonderfully funky little music venue in Avondale. The acts tend to be a bit obscure, but you may catch a star in the making. They offer a fine selection of beers and ciders. This is not a restaurant, so I'm not sure why food review would apply.“

“I went to Mother's Ruin with a group of my coworkers, and Keith the bartender took the best care of us. He really made all of our nights special. I have also gone to Mother's Ruin for my birthday and graduation, and each time the service is always spectacular. I can't recommend this place enough! I highly recommend the nachos, and the specialty cocktails they have are all delicious.“

“An absolute gem.I reserved the back lounge room for my birthday and it was the best decision ever! It was easy to communicate via their Instagram, and the room was reserved and ready to go. They even let me bring a cake and hire a caricature artist to come! We played bingo, had delicious cocktails, and admired the decor and items for sale (I now own a rainbow pin striped shirt!). “Stopped by after a performance at the Stan Mansion. Very cozy and friendly. Wished they had some beer on draft but they have an extensive list of bottles and cans, many unique or hard to find. Clean men's room too. Patrons were quiet and respectful of everybody. Will go back.“

“So this place is an amazing "Pocha" experience! Great social drinking vibe with amazing food. Note that the wait can be 40mins+ and it can get very packed. Now although you might wait a bit, which should give you enough time to have an order in mine, the food comes out super fast once placed. Probably took only 10mins for the food to start coming out.Highly highly recommend the Tofu Kimchi (which comes with pork belly), Spicy BBQ pork belly w/mozzarella, and the Rose Tteok bok ki.Definitely what we were looking for and they also have karaoke which we might come back to try.“

“Awesome steakhouse in Rivers casino! We love Gibson's/Hugo's downtown, so it's always fun to go to this location at the casino. Steak, salads, cocktails, wine, desserts, all amazing! The whole place has a fantastic retro feeling... the lanes, the balls, and the maneul scoring; all of it comes together for a great experience.Bar has some nice specials that change daily, a diverse beer selection, and a surprisingly great spirit selection. “I don't want to encourage over-indulgence but you can have quite a good time here for about $20 or $25. Cash only, ATM inside, the music the bar plays is always fantastic, and on week nights on occasion they will have seriously good food popups.“

“The ambiance is so cute! It's a wine bar but it's very lounge and I love that. It doesn't give club vibes at all but if you wanted to dance you could! Very cute, sophisticated, and chic. It's great for an after spot after dinner or early plans elsewhere! The service was very nice! I do like the open tab vs immediately closing out bc I can't get service. Every bartender was attentive and knowledgeable. The best part are the taco trucks that arrive outside during the later part of the evening. My brand are tacos @damnthosesteaktacos on IG & TikTok. They don't have food so having them pull up outside is so clutch after having a few Frenchies . Unfortunate I have no pictures because I was too busy having fun! They sponsor a number of different teams and have a great back room dedicated to darts and a bi-weekly blind draw on Wednesdays. Everybody is friendly. Recommend checking it out! Good beer specials. “Nice, very tiny place. Good beer. Seating is not the most comfortable, lots of backless bar stools and small tables. Within the location is a business where they press cremated ashes into diamonds. Fine. But then brewery stuff is stored in the dead people processing partitioned space. I don't get it.“

“After visiting the Czech Republic, I was craving authentic Czech goulash (which, in my opinion, is the best goulash in Europe). As someone living in the loop, I was willing to make the trip to the suburbs based on the authentic menu- the food exceeded expectations and was exactly like the goulash I had in Prague.We also had the schnitzel (pork), but was surprised they did not have a veal or beef option.Service was excellent and there is a nice bar with whatever game is on as well. Beer was appropriately priced and poured well.No doubt would come here again whenever I have a Czech cuisine itch to scratch.“

“If you want an amazing steak, this is the place! Steak at an Italian restaurant you ask? Yes. They have a dry aged tomahawk steak this is to die for. Mind you it is expensive, but so worth it. It’s huge and when we go as a couple we get it plus a few sides. It is also great for a larger group because then you have room to enjoy their pastas and desert. People usually think you go to a steakhouse to get a great steak. But I have found that many Italian and French restaurants offer these larger prime cuts and they are usually outstanding.“

“We stopped in when they were close to closing time and the place was empty. But they were still welcoming and chill about us grabbing a few slices and a beer to put down. We tried the sausage and the All the Right Moves. Both were delicious. Probably one of the best pizza crusts I've ever had as well - perfect blend of crispy and chewy. I particularly enjoyed the Coffee Blossom and Oaxacan Forest Wildflower traditional meads but there were a wide variety of flavored meads too, all of which were great. The server came out with tiramisu and lemoncello ;without us asking for it I guess he overheard our conversation that we were there to celebrate a birthday, this was an excellent observation made by him,which I thanked very much. “They only serve lunch only during the weekdays (no dinner and no weekends). However it is the best lunch around! It's like your mom went in the kitchen and made it for you. Soups are made from scratch and they are delicious. The BLT on rye is outstanding. And if they have it, you have to try the potato salad. This is a bar with a Northwoods atmosphere that has affordable prices but there are some tables to sit at. They also have a Friday fish special.“

“Everything about our experience was five stars. First off the ambiance was so nice, stylish but comfortable and cozy. My four year old spilled milk all over him, the booth and the floor. The staff, Claudia (server), Andres and Kristine (host) were so unbelievably kind, attentive and responsive I don't think I have ever experienced that before. “Great little spot to have a few drinks and see some live music. It's a similar set up to Beat Kitchen; bar in front, venue in the back. However, Burlington has no food - just drinks. I have played here and have seen other bands play here many times. The sound is always good and music is usually done by 11:00. Entertainment is booked by Mpshows. Would return, would recommend.“

“Last stop in Logan Square. Last bar before heading home. Favorite bar. Cash only is ok. Loved this bar. I stuck with beers, but my family had some cocktails. Bartender on Friday night was awesome! Bar had an old-school feel. It was later in the night and was more crowded. Lots of fun! There was a nice outdoor area. It looks like they may have live music, too. This was my favorite of the 4 or 5 bars we visited on this trip.“

“The outdoor area here is the perfect outdoor area all year round, plus the bar bus out back is awesome. The smoothies are secretly strong and absolutely delicious. Their brunch is worth it, and the food is good for bar food. Also, free hot dogs one night when I was there, how cool is that?? My friends and I have our new spot.“
