“This is a small cute restaurant where the food and service are so good, it gets crowded, so reservations are recommended. The food is American Bistro, and it is perfect for a fancy date or celebration of 4 people or less if some chatter noise doesn't bother you. I'll always go back, and I like their blue cheese hamburger.“

“Bluegrass Restaurant is a wonderful, family-owned restaurant. We have been ordering takeout and eating in since we came to Highland Park three years ago. The owners take pride in managing the restaurant on a daily basis. They prioritize customer service, great food, and a warm, welcoming experience. Last night, they hosted the Highland Park/Highwood Professional Moms group. We had only expected 15 women to attend, but 25 women ended up coming. The owners and the staff were AMAZING. They brought over additional chairs. They provided us with top-notch service, including separate checks. They respected us when we were speaking to the group and quietly took orders in the background. I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant.“

“Highland Park's BACKYARD GRILL is a delicious counter order eatery. The servings are large and the quantity is deliciously excellent.
The cashier knows the menu and is familiar with the Ingredients. The short order, visible kitchen creates the meal quickly. Both vegan and conventional entrees are offered. Beef, chicken, and vegan options are available. The three in our party ordered gyros with pita, roasted chicken, and homus platter. They were delicious.
.
STUFF: Parking is difficult. I ended up using the city lot, a block away. This eatery has two levels connected with a ramp. Everything is ADA compliant.“

“First time in 10 years since I haven’t had Dennys in general. As my return. Good customer service, staff are pleasant, The Triple Burger is delicious. Highland Park is very safe and I will be coming back!“
“(*Bistro hours at the end!) - It’s a “Bistro,” with a limited menu, not a full scale restaurant. I checked in late and appreciated they were still open! The Cobb Salad was good for me. They do have a FULL BAR, and poured a very nice Bacardi & Coke for me! The next morning I designed a Breakfast Bowl from their menu, and had a drip coffee. I was not able to finish the entire breakfast, it was VERY GOOD! (See photo). CURRENTLY breakfast hours are M-F, 6:00 AM-9:30 AM, and weekends 7:00 AM-10:00 AM. Dinner hours 5:00 PM-10:00 PM, seven days a week. Menu photos also attached. All the staff was great!“

“The service was fine. Our server was polite and responsive. The atmosphere is casual. As there are lots of hard surfaces, the noise level is somewhat high. The food was good. The "black truffle" barrata is a ball of cheese on top of some stewed green vegetables. I detected no evidence of any truffles in the dish. No truffle aroma or flavor. Seafood pasta primavera was tasty with fresh seafood.“

“I’m celiac and so much of the menu is gluten free. Great prices and no gluten free up charge! Hotdogs, burgers, fries, chicken tenders…all gluten free and delicious gluten free buns. Highly recommend!“
