“Went with family for the Friday night fish special. Was pretty good, but the gem was the variety of sizes that came with the platter. Everything could have used a bit more seasoning, except the veggies provided with it were done well. Typical decor for this type of establishment.“

“Last place I know of that still makes everything from scratch. You can totally taste the difference. I have never eaten hash browns that are this “potato” fresh- not ever. And if you choose the “fresh fruit” option, it seems like they literally just sliced it up before they put it on your plate. I have never gotten fruit here that is dehydrated on the edges like you get at a lot of restaurants where you can tell it’s been sitting “cut up” for a long time waiting to be plopped on a plate. I know that’s considered normal prep work for most kitchens but i’m convinced this place must slice at the moment before they serve it because it’s still juicy you can just tell it’s just been cut.“

“My first visit to Inovasi and it did not disappoint! Our server Lucia was fantastic- knowledgeable friendly and she helped me find just the right cocktail! We started with their delicious bread, and then had the crispy pork belly for appetizer. For entree we had a filet with shaved truffles and a blackened cod with lime and whipped edamame. Both were superb as was the dessert of flourless chocolate cake with raspberry purée and shipped goats cheese, and a pumpkin cheesecake. All was delicious, and the ambiance and decor was warm and inviting. We will be back!“

“The restaurant is nice and big. It is clean! The waitstaff is great, friendly and efficient . The food is very very good and you know it's a great place to go when there is a wait line, sometimes out the door. You have the option to eat outside in good weather. My husband and I always try to get the cozy two seater table in the little nook by the window. The food is very tasty and plenty of flowing coffee. Due to illness we are not able to come out much, but I sure miss this place. Lots of wonderful Saturday morning breakfast memories. Wishing you great continued success.“

“Bluegrass Restaurant is a wonderful, family-owned restaurant. We have been ordering takeout and eating in since we came to Highland Park three years ago. The owners take pride in managing the restaurant on a daily basis. They prioritize customer service, great food, and a warm, welcoming experience. Last night, they hosted the Highland Park/Highwood Professional Moms group. We had only expected 15 women to attend, but 25 women ended up coming. The owners and the staff were AMAZING. They brought over additional chairs. They provided us with top-notch service, including separate checks. They respected us when we were speaking to the group and quietly took orders in the background. I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant.“

“My Aunt Marcia Hoffman turned 90 and is a rehab center where she is confined to her room . We wanted to do something special so we call Scotty’s and the made a meal to order for pick up. “Don’t order the short rib mini sandwiches! They were 90 percent fat. When I informed the waitress she indicated that there is always fat on those sandwiches. My sandwich was mostly grizzle and fat. My friend had the same thing but hers at least had some meat.“

Stopped by The Arvin Place and was genuinely impressed. Ordered the khuushuur (fried meat pies) and a traditional meat platter with boiled beef, potatoes, carrots, and a delicate dough wrap. Portions are generous, the meat is tender and flavorful, and the khuushuur came out golden with a thin, crispy shell, exactly how it should be. The broth on the side was a nice touch.
The space is clean and welcoming, with photos of the Mongolian steppe on the walls that set the mood. Friendly service, fair prices, and a rare chance to try real Mongolian cuisine in the Chicago area. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​“

“We were celebrating a birthday and they made the entire experience. Wonderful, we were greeted with birthday card and a sign for the table. Then, we got complimentary champagne and a dessert mini. The chef came over and wished a happy birthday and offered to accommodate anything that we needed. Our server was attentive and cheerful. The food was amazing. We will be back!“

“It's hand down one of the best diners around state. Friendly atmosphere, great food and this Hash Skillet is the BOMB. Don't forget to also include a Sunrise Smoothie to your meals, makes the day feel so much better.

“I have been in this restaurant for more than 4 times. I highly recommend it. There are a lot of parking. Once you come in; you are greeted with a warm greeting and and enthusiastic smule by the host or owner. The servers are very accommodating , friendly and helpful. They check on their customers for whatever they need until your meal is done. The busboys are hardworking and any requests will be granted right away. The food/dishes are cooked just the way you requests. Their steaks and eggs are up to par. The prices are decently priced. For what they serve you, good amounts of food. Well worth it. Freshness and presentations of foods are stupendous! Never did I have any complaints the way the place is ran. Very clean. Wide open. Eventhough i live far. I kept going back and i know when i leave, my tummy is full, content and some take home left overs. Check their menu. Check the big breakfast meal. You can't go wrong with their reasonable prices. I must have called 6 times changing the number of people and requesting a round table and they were so patient and accommodating. “This is really a wonderful restaurant. The price point is excellent and the value for money superb. The food was really, really good, and we all enjoyed our meal. The skirt steak, the lamb chops, the beet salad and the ceviche. The poached pear is something different (not sweet at all) and the chocolate cake was very tasty. And for 10 bucks you get a really solid pour of wine (probably around 9 oz), which is just unheard of in a restaurant. Service was good and we really enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommend you try this new place. They deserve to be more busy. It’s new and people need to get the word out.“

“We had a wonderful dinner at Prairie Grass Cafe. The spring rolls were loaded with delicious perfectly cooked shrimp and the accompanying sauce (sweet chili with garlic and cilantro) plays nicely with them. The flounder with roasted carrots and parsnip-potato purée was as delicious as it looks. It was generously portioned and beautifully plated. We also enjoyed the mussels with parsley, shallots, and breadcrumbs pasta. My husband is Sicilian and it reminded us of the pasta con le sarde that we love to have in Sicily. The mussels were plump and delicious. The wine list is very nice. We found wines we really enjoyed and they were reasonably priced. We enjoyed the Attems, Pinot Grigio, Friuli, Italy ‘22 with our mussels and flounder, and the Fritz Haag, Riesling, Germany ‘21 with our pumpkin pie for dessert. Service was perfect.“
