“Oaken Bistro was our stop before a play at Citadel Theater. But what we thought would be a quick bite to eat with a cocktail turned out to be a really fantastic experience! Our server Dane was attentive and got our orders accurate as well as making some fabulous suggestions for food choices ... the honey/goat cheese app was out of this world and a generous portion as well. We happen to love a good old fashioned cheeseburger and this place did not disappoint with a nice slight char taste to it. Our cocktails, a Negroni and their special Oaken Old Fashioned were both yummy and well crafted. The manager was seen many times strolling thru the restaurant to be sure everything was top notch and the busser kept our water refilled. The ambience was a warm and inviting vibe despite having a modern appeal, which can be a tricky combination. We plan to return very soon!!“

“I had been told to come check out this place since it's opening and tonight I found myself with nowhere to be for a bit and early enough to catch them before they closed. I spent a good deal of time deciding what I was going to order (because it all sounded amazing!) and the owner kept checking on me (but not in a pushy way) and I finally decided on the Cheeze burger and the berry smoothie. The first sip was perfection, and it only got better from there. I waited just 2 or 3 minutes more and my burger was ready. Spent a short time in conversation with the owner, and even before biting into the burger, I knew I'd be back as soon as my schedule allowed. Great customer service, phenomenal food and a calming, beautiful atmosphere. Don't sleep on this place, people! 10 out of 10.“
“Quite a drive for me but worth the trip. Easy parking, the place was inviting even from the outside, and seating was comfortable. Our waitress was super nice and attentive throughout our meal. All three of us had the bottomless mimosa, which is only worth it if you drink three or more. I chose it because I wanted to try the different kinds of mimosas: oj, cranberry, and pineapple. Yum to them all. For my meal, I split the Veggie Fritatta and the Chiliquiles with my friend. I liked the chiliqiiles more (crunchy chips) than the fritatta (chunks of potato). The special: corn beef eggrolls were also really good. My other friend had the steak and cheese, which she loved. The amount given was just enough, and the prices were decent.“

I used to only order the sample platter, steak sandwich and chicken wings but last night I tried their steak fajitas and it was surprisingly spectacular. Their margarita didn't taste as authentic as the food made by authentic Mexicans. However the manager was kind enough to offer me an amazing old fashioned and the bartender nailed it making my experience even more special. I'm not a fan of dive bars but they make you feel very welcome definitely turning into one of my regular places to go!“

“5 star food and service every time. Tonight we had the pleasure of being waited on by Lupe. Lupe is very passionate making sure he provides excellent customer service for his guests. He knows the menu and explained it in great detail at our table. He offered suggestions when asked and the suggestions were spot on. We started with the corn bread which was warm and the soft butter only made it better. For dinner most of our table had ribs. The ribs were cooked to perfection with the sauce ratio being spot on. You can taste the freshness of the ribs let me tell you, delicious! A few ordered the NY Strip steak with the added optional char, it was amazing. For dessert our table shared a few sundaes and the brownies a la mode. OMG, what a way to end the perfect dinner! Thank you Lupe and all the competent staff for a great dinner. Attentive, very friendly and also made some good recommendations on food. Do save room for dessert! Highly recommend their dessert shots. Their house made apple crisp was amazing!! I rented out the private area, where you had the option of having your own DJ and personal Bartender. David, the owner, worked with me closely throughout the process. From helping me choose a DJ to helping with the food options. He made sure during the night that me and my guests were happy and satisfied. It was definitely a vibe there! All the guests had a great time and enjoyed the atmosphere. DeeJay Nez was great. He understood the assignment! The Theme was "Back to the 90s" he played a great mix of 90s/2000s. If you want to have a good time and relax, or need a space to host a party, I definitely recommend Social Bar and Grill! You won't be sorry! “I've been eating at this restaurant for over 20 years. It's a family restaurant, where the owner knows all his regular customers by name and the new ones he treats like he's known them for years as well. This restaurant has managed to stay in business while many of the others around it have closed. The food is well above your average family restaurant and the prices reflect that. This isn't fine dining as some like to compare it too. The staff works hard and many have worked there for 10-20 years. Customers come in and ask for specific servers due to the service and relationships built over the years. There are LOTS of customers who eat here daily or multiple times weekly!! The restaurant is always clean and has a beautiful banquet hall attached that has events going on almost daily. Many groups and organizations come in monthly and rent out the room. The soups, salads (create your own), pancakes, skirt steak, Athenian Chicken, wings and Chicken Mykonos (Wednesday night only) are some of my favorites.“
