“Oaken Bistro was our stop before a play at Citadel Theater. But what we thought would be a quick bite to eat with a cocktail turned out to be a really fantastic experience! Our server Dane was attentive and got our orders accurate as well as making some fabulous suggestions for food choices ... the honey/goat cheese app was out of this world and a generous portion as well. We happen to love a good old fashioned cheeseburger and this place did not disappoint with a nice slight char taste to it. Our cocktails, a Negroni and their special Oaken Old Fashioned were both yummy and well crafted. The manager was seen many times strolling thru the restaurant to be sure everything was top notch and the busser kept our water refilled. The ambience was a warm and inviting vibe despite having a modern appeal, which can be a tricky combination. We plan to return very soon!!“
“I brought my mom here for lunch and everything was wonderful! We both have food allergies and they were very attentive and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. In addition to that, everything was delicious! We both got burgers, hers had bacon and mine was without bacon and both were amazing! The fries were also really good, crispy and well salted. I can't say enough good things about my visit. We'll definitely come back!“
“Been there twice. if my first waiter was as bad as the second one, I would never go a second time. The first time was amazing, Great waiter was amazing service great tasting food. Second time the waiter acted didn't even care about providing decent service. But all that being said the food is great“

“While the food is excellent and locally sourced, the prices are high. It's an a la carte menu. They even charge for bread. Soups are $8, salads $15+ and they're not entree size. I suggest sharing entrees to save money and enjoy the food.“

“I was always resistant to trying bar food but my son loves going there with his friends so, I had to give it a try and to my surprise, the food was absolutely amazing. I used to only order the sample platter, steak sandwich and chicken wings but last night I tried their steak fajitas and it was surprisingly spectacular. Their margarita didn't taste as authentic as the food made by authentic Mexicans. However the manager was kind enough to offer me an amazing old fashioned and the bartender nailed it making my experience even more special. I'm not a fan of dive bars but they make you feel very welcome definitely turning into one of my regular places to go!“

“This place seemed as if it was an upscale sports bar. Plenty on tvs to view games, but above that was the food! I was very surprised at how everything tasted, making me savor that last bite. The plain French fries were very average, but the truffle fries were much better.The calamari was good, but the other appetizers were not so much. The goat cheese was bland and the crab cakes were small and mushy.I had an alcohol free cocktail and it was good, but not $9 good.The cheeseburger and chicken sandwich were both loved by our dining partners.The service was pretty slow, but I'm sure they were under staffed since it was a holiday weekend.“

“Our server was very attentive. We always love coming here for lunch. One of the bus boys spilled a glass of water on me. He did not handle it great and barely apologized. The maitre d saw what happened and right away asked if we were ok and offered to comp our lunch, seeing how I was pretty drenched. It was super nice and exactly how I would have expected it handled. She was great. I know accidents happen but it was just too bad the bus boy didn't seem apologetic. We will of course be returning!“

However, there are two rooms where we were in one of them, and the sound of music and laughing and stuff carries from one room to another, interfering with speakers and conversations. Also, to get to a bathroom we had to walk through a room where other people had their own party, essentially violating their privacy. Still a good choice with reasonable prices.“

They were terrific in every way-responsive, helpful with menu ideas and amounts, and all of the food was delicious.
