“This place is a sleeper that makes a great garlic chicken salad sandwich on a dutch crunch bread.

A dutch crunch bread, when baked, has a pillowy inside but the exterior is a crispy crackled crust that looks similar to the bark og a tree/log. And the crunch is second to none!!! This should be used on all sandwiches!!!

The creamy garlic chicken salad has chunks of premium white meat with a hint of garlic, followed by heat from the giardeneria. All this is wrapped up with liberal amounts of cooling shredded lettuce. And the sub sandwich was huge and price point was fairly low at under $13 for this size. Definitely going to come back and try other ones in the future.

The space is small and dark, a bit cramped and many students tend to be socializing or studying. And that makes sense since these prices are relatively less than other similar delis.“

“Lovely coffee with an authentic feel. Elotito is top tier as it is bursting with flavor and can taste the tortilla within it. They serve beacon doughnuts here too. All in all spent under $14 for the Elotito and doughnut. Worth the trip if you're out here“

The atmosphere was very nice and calm, the smells were divine, and the service was excellent! We got to chat with the owner for a second and she was absolutely darling! I had a strawberry matcha latte with brown sugar boba and I know in a week I’ll be craving it again. 10/10 will be coming back again!“

They no longer sell boba here, it's just a slots place and I'm guessing a bar. The lady there just asked us if we were there for boba and told us to go to the Thai restaurant (Bodhi).

So I stumbled across this place back in May before they had their grand opening. I don't think they were actually quite opened just yet but the staff was nice enough to let me and my sister in and order. Unfortunately they didn't have any boba that day lol but I didn't miss it at all. I was so happy to hear that they only used alternative milk for the drinks since the owners are lactose intolerant. So that right there earns a extra star for me. While I didn't get to try all the options this will be my newest spot to come and enjoy wherever I need a boba fix.“

The way in which the fabricating of the chocolate is controlled in such a richly authentic way won me over. My granddaughter loved the samples that we were given. I also had the breakfast quesadilla. Would have been nice if there was a bit more like maybe a side of guacamole in addition to sour cream and salsa. It was super heavy on the cheese.

The place itself was pretty spacious for a cafe. Plenty of place as I was there fairly early in the AM. I would give it another try.“

Every time I go there, at least one staff member is in a very bad mood, which affects the overall atmosphere and experience. I can sympathize if they are unhappy with working conditions or other issues, but I still think every customer deserves a decent experience and should not be made to feel undesired just for being there. Hope you talk about this issue and try to make it better, because this place is wonderful and the food soulful, but I personally also look for a place where I feel welcome and appreciated, also in view of the prices.“

“We drove over an hour to get here, not knowing that whole cakes are only sold by pre-order. The gentle was kind enough to sell me one that was ready for an order that would be picked much later. That gave them enough time to get another prepared.

The cake was just a traditional 3 Leches cake. It was perfectly moist throughout the cake. The frosting was not too thick nor too sweet. I would have loved to try one of the others flavors.

It is a little small and expensive when compared to other bakeries. The quality and taste makes up for the added cost
cost.“

“We went to Chinatown and visited this place and got their rolled ice cream. I think the ice cream is very good with pretty big portions. I got 4 different ones and all of them were good but the favorite was the strawberry mango cuz of the fresh mango and strawberries on it. Personally although there were a lot of people, the wait time was not too long.“

“Yesterday I took the Sourdough Breadmaking Class with Chef George at The Ancestral Oven and I just pulled an amazing loaf of bread out of my home oven 24 hours later! Chef George provided all the necessary instruction and supplies - including a lively starter - for students to start their own sourdough journey at home. The class included hands-on experience feeding the starter, as well as folding and shaping the dough. I had a great time at the class and can't wait to return to try out the breakfast and lunch menu at The Ancestral Oven Bakery and Cafe.“

The location was spectacular, and the views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline were truly amazing. And they have restrooms for the customers. I must say, I was very impressed with everything at this store from the decor, cleanliness and organisation to great customer service!

The Dessert and tea we ordered were also delicious.

“I placed an order to go. Was informed that there was a $3.00 to go charge and a gratuity would be added on the order cause it was over $100.00. After I checked the receipt, $18.35 was the gratuity. I thought it would be maybe $5.00. Very disappointed. Had I known this, I would have come into the restaurant and ate there had them provide me with service. I am a senior and that was definetly not right. I've already instructed my family not to get me gift card from Maple and Jam.“
