“This is truly a hidden gem in downtown Joliet. Food was absolutely delicious. We tried the pollo anticuchero, the lomo saltado and the papa a la huancaina and it was all very tasty. I had the parchita for a drink and it was also very good. We will definitely be back.“

I was left thinking out going again just because the tacos were a good portion, the pastor was the right amount of greasy not dry but the only two recommendations I had was the meat needed just a little more flavor and the red salsa was not spicy at all but was a good texture not like the water some places have in place of salsa.“

“We were celebrating our 20th anniversary. Our service was done by Kaylea. Although she was very busy, she was very pleasant and helpful specially when I had to return my steak because it was under cooked to my taste. She took the steak back to the kitchen no problem and came back with a little better cooked steak with a brand new potato and veggies! The shrimps cocktail was very nice. Overall good food and good service. Perhaps the prices are a little higher but eating out these days is more then it used to be. Perfect location, right in the downtown market where is the Rideau mall, shops and restaurants.“

“Just wanted to share my love for El Zarape in Joliet! It's become my go-to spot. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but their tacos and tortas are amazing. Seriously, they're so generous with the meat – way more than other Mexican places I've been to. And the best part? The meat is super lean! It's a little pricier than some other restaurants, but you definitely get what you pay for in terms of quality.

One small thing – the restaurant could use a little sprucing up. The booths aren't the comfiest, and maybe not the best for those of us with a bit more… *comfortable* seating preferences. Because of that, I usually just order for pickup. But the food is totally worth it!“

The elote was good, nothing amazing, but could have used more toppings. There is a tented seating area to eat your meal. Overall, everything was great so I look forward to going back.“

“Great atmosphere a friend of mine dragged me there and even though I am not much of a drinker and wasn't in a drinking mood they manage to warm me up to the idea with a corona on the house and how can I refuse it at that point it was cleared they ware more than just a bar I highly recommend this place great people tending towards customer service.“
