“I stopped by to try out the pozole. I was prepared to be disappointed as I have been with most restaurant pozole. The bar is pretty high as I have a friend that makes it best homemade. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. The broth was not rushed which resulted in such rich flavors. Every spoonful was filled with meat and hominy as well thanks to the generous servings in the soup. The taste reflects the patience and love that it was made with. The price point was pretty amazing as well. I will undoubtedly come back for more.“

“Amazing tacos! Heard the owner came from Atotonilco Taqueria, so I knew I had to try it and I’m glad I did! Carne was nice and soft, salsa spicy and flavorful, and I asked for the tortilla crispy and it was perfect! And the tacos survived an hour drive home, so I can only imagine how they would taste fresh!“

“Good food for a cheap price. I had their Monday special that was a burrito for $5.50. I also like the fact that it's in walking distance from Galloping Ghost, so if you're hungry you don't have to go far to get some good food.“

“DELICIOUS! The best chilaquiles in Chicago without a doubt. I'm from CDMX and they are the only ones who know Mexico. The sauce is spicy, the cream is liquid, the jerky melts in your mouth, all very greasy just like in the city haha.
If you miss Mexico or have never been and want to know what good chilaquiles taste like, this is the right place.

Only opportunity is that there's random junk in certain areas of the hall that are visible to the guess.. maybe clean those corners to make it more presentable. “We came all the way from Wisconsin to have the most delicious AUTHENTIC Mexican food at Irma's. 100/10 recommend. The food was SO GOOD that we didn't stop to take pictures. The kids really loved the complimentary sopita. The barbacoa tacos were delicious, and the asada ones were also tasty, las papas bravas are realllyyyy bravas! The restaurant is cozy & inviting, Irmas sazón is chefs kiss, and Irma is the absolute sweetest & most welcoming owner we know. She truly does make you feel like you are in her actual kitchen and everyone is well taken care of the moment you walk in, it's like being greeted by family. Sad we missed the opportunity to try her famous chilaquiles but we will be back for more ?
