“Had a dinner in the Basement. Witch theme decor for Halloween. Service was great. We had the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. They were done perfectly with a great crunch outside and gooey inside. The chicken was a bit dry and broccoli was cold. The smash burger was good and great sweet potato fries.“

“Been wanting to try Short Stacks for breakfast for a long time. So glad I had the chance this morning. Simply ordered the 3 pancakes with strawberries and whip cream. My friend had the omelet. Both were Delicious! But...the best part of the experience was our server Amanda. Start to finish, what a Blessing to have her wait on us. Greeted us with a smile and such a great attitude, seemingly glad to see us and excited to serve us. It was not crowded at the time we were there so we had some time to chat with her...so pleasant. She was attentive to our breakfast needs and very prompt with everything. Highly recommend this place.“

“Bowlful of Korea is such a cute little spot! The restaurant is nicely decorated, clean, and has a really welcoming atmosphere. There’s also plenty of parking, which is always a plus since it’s conveniently located right next to a Jewel-Osco. Only downside is that there is two individual bathrooms which I could foresee being an issue if the place is packed.

The restaurant is self-serve and kiosk-style. You place your order at the kiosk, grab a number, and sit at any available table. They’ll bring your food directly to you, so the process is super easy and convenient. There’s also a designated area where you can grab water and utensils yourself.

One thing I thought was a really nice touch is that they have an additional private room on the side that’s available to rent for events. I could definitely see this being a great option for birthday parties, bridal showers, intimate gatherings, or other small celebrations.

We ordered three things: Chicken Katsu – $14 and two Assorted Sashimi Bowl – $21 each. Everything we tried was delicious and came in generous portions. I especially appreciated how fresh and balanced the bowls felt, with a great variety of vegetables alongside the protein. The meals felt filling without being overly heavy, and there was a nice variety of ingredients in every bowl.“

There are numerous options for flights or mixed drinks, and we tried and really enjoyed the gold dust woman, Amanda’s manhattan, old fashioned, and the sazerac. The front end staff are courteous, polite and classy and am always met with a friendly greeting at the door. Alexis is an outstanding bartender and a gifted mixologist. Her limoncello martinis are exquisite. The wait staff are consummate professionals. I have had the genuine pleasure of being served by Virginia on numerous occasions and she is simply outstanding! And it's not just her level of service, but she's friendly and engaging and makes excellent food and drink recommendations. The girl knows what she's talking about - period. Her knowledge is impressive and she always makes it fun! The food is truly in a class by itself and compliments to the Chefs and kitchen staff. “Al’s Hot Dogs has been an awesome addition to Long Grove! So far, I’ve tried the Italian beef, cheesesteak, cheeseburger, and fries, and everything has been absolutely amazing! The food is consistently delicious, and you can tell they’re doing things right.

My only criticism is that the wait times to order and receive your food can be a little longer than you’d like, but hopefully that improves as they get settled in. Regardless, the food is well worth the wait!

“i recently had a disappointing experience at a restaurant that I felt compelled to share. I went there for dinner with my fiancée, mother, and our two young kids, ages 3 and 1. Initially, the dinner was fantastic; we were enjoying our time together and the food was great. However, after about an hour and 20 minutes, we were abruptly told we had to leave because of other reservations. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since I still had my drink left, and we had just paid our tab As we were leaving, we encountered a manager and inquired about the situation. To our shock, she responded by asking if we knew how to read English, which felt incredibly rude and unprofessional. I pulled up my reservation online and nowhere does it say there was a time limit. To make matters worse, as we walked through the bar to exit, she followed my mother and physically shoved her three times. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable in any establishment, and it left a sour taste in what could have been a lovely evening. We called the cops to make a report as the manager "lucy" (she told me this was her name) should never be able to touch a customer. Especially since we were not refusing to leave AND my kids were there to witness it all. In the car my son kept asking why the lady pushed my mom . This shouldn't be something I need to answer as it never should have happened. She tried telling the cops she did not have the "intent" to hurt but to get us out . Yet we were not even refusing to leave...only letting her know it was rude as we still had stuff that was unfinished that we paid for. I understand that restaurants have to manage reservations, but there are respectful ways to handle these situations. Additionally, she left it up to the waiter to tell us we had to leave . I won't be returning, and I hope this feedback helps others make an informed decision. And please , if you were in the bar / restaurant when this all happened , speak up on how wrong it was of her to push someone like that.“
