“This is some of the very best ramen I have ever had. And it's in my backyard!! After spending 2 weeks working on Los Angeles and going to ramen places every day, I fell in love with ramen in a way that found its way to the core of my heart. In the Chicago land area, for years, there was really only 2 places that were amazing. And to be honest, better than the places in LA. But then Tatsu opened and my wife and I were judgemental at first.... Until we ate it. The ramen is un-freaking-believably amazingly mouth watering and the service of the staff is just so welcoming and warm and real. I never feel rushed even when the place is packed (I'm looking at you Saturday nights). I feel like they want me here. And I'm happy to be so. Tatsu has become my absolute favorite ramen place to go to.

I'm actually nervous about going to Japan this year because of all the ramen shops we already have lined up to visit .. but something in me is screaming that when I get home to Elgin I will be welcomed with my favorite Spicy Garlic Tonkatsu waiting for me.

Based on the name, I assumed this was a kebab fast food (hot dog serving) small, cramped, smoky 1930's Greek restaurant. To my surprise, it is a spacious, well-ventilated, well-lit 2030's sit-down restaurant with absolutely delicious chicken, chick-peas (hummus) and meat-based protein meals, with generous portions of elegantly-prepared rice, salads, nice pita bread, ancient Christian food treasures straddling the fence between south-eastern European and middle-eastern and Asia Minor national palates. Հայկական, Assyrian, Greek, Lebanese Arabic and Persian cuisine-lovers would love the flavors.

They are a great place to rent for graduation parties or baptisms.

I ordered a yogurt-based drink (Karoun, yum), hummus appetizer, French fries (crispy and good as is or with ketchup), then got a delicious chicken and ground meat kebab which came with rice, salad, and several delicious garlic-based and spicy sauces. An hour later I am still energetic and not at all in a food coma.

Great for lunch or dinner, a place to bring family who is visiting from out of town to sate their protein appetite.

I have to visit again to try other dishes and a bunch of salads.

Don't let the location fool you. It is n ot a small place.

This is a roomy place to visit for couples, a family, or a single man or woman looking for a 100% healthy meal that will nourish you for the whole day.

I went on a Sunday after Church and was the only one dining in. The service was nice and generous. The Karoun Yogurt Drink provided a protein boost which is good for the stomach. My family loved it.

One of the most memorable dining experiences, and a top restaurant for serving a hearty, generous meal that tastes better than anything I or you have had in a long while. Take some home to finish it later or get carry out.

The fish fry on Friday in Lent was way better than expected, excellent teriyaki salmon dinner and karaoke entertainment by the locals that were extremely talented! “We tried Banushi’s today and really liked it. Grew up on Chicago pizza and this is Chicago in Algonquin. Crispy crust, good sauce. My husband likes lots of cheese, I prefer light cheese - this was the perfect compromise. Pickles appetizer and chicken soup were also good. Can’t wait to try the Chicken Parm. “I worked with Plank Road Tap Room to host my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour on September 27, 2025. First off, the process was so easy. I worked closely with Breanne and she handled everything so wonderfully. She was accommodating with our rehearsal time, clear with all communication, incredibly helpful day-of, and a total joy to work with. I am beyond grateful that I felt I was in such good hands the whole time. Also the ceremony space and outdoor trail made for some seriously amazing pictures that I'm still in awe over. I highly recommend PRTR for any event from casual hangouts to your biggest day!
