“Most of this review is based on nostalgia. When I was a teenager, my dad would take me here when he got off work (when it was only underground) so I could eat pizza and he could have a couple cocktails. Though I live a thousand miles away, I was able to take my kids to this place so they could enjoy the pizza (along with me). Still a great tavern style thin crust. No, I didn’t have any drinks but I was able to get them to open the downstairs for us so my sons could delight in the amazingly unique and memorable decor of the basement. The place above ground has changed a lot, but the pizza, the downstairs pub, and the memories haven’t“

“It's been over two weeks since my family and I visited The Polish American Bistro. It would be remiss of me not to leave a wonderful review of this lovely restaurant! Ania and Darek, the owners, are the nicest and most hospitable people ever! Since I have family in Poland, it was fun to talk to them about their homeland. Now about their food . . . it's completely amazing! I ordered galumpki (ground beef and rice wrapped in cabbage). The tomato sauce on top was so delicious, it spun circles around the sauce my grandma used to make (sorry, Grandma!)! My husband ate a breaded pork cutlet with mashed potatoes. SO tasty! And my daughter opted for a cheeseburger that looked and tasted so great that we even returned the next day to order another cheeseburger to go! Our entrees were accompanied by a side of two types of salad - one made of marinated red cabbage, and the other was their super delectable authentic Polish sour cream, cucumbers and dill. As you can tell, our dinner itself was a 5-star experience. Last but not least, I must discuss their DESSERTS! When you walk into Ania and Darek's restaurant, your eyes will immediately be drawn to their multi-tier display of desserts. Unfortunately, since our stomachs were full after our delicious dinner, we couldn't even think of dessert. However, take-home was still an option! So I asked Ania to escort me to the dessert case and tell me about her sweet treats. It turns out she owns a bakery in another suburb, and all the desserts are made on location at the bakery FROM SCRATCH! So we took a few home (see photo), ate them the next evening, and they did not disappoint! I loved them all, especially the vanilla custard inside the eclair and fruit tart! The chocolately hazelnut dessert was a Kinder Bueno torte. I want to go back and try more of these amazing treats! “We went to Woodfire for my birthday. The food and service is excellent. Vicki was our server and she was very friendly and attentive. The food is so fresh and homemade. The pizza crust is crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. There is an assortment of types of pizza, but the cheese pizza is the best I’ve ever had. The pasta is rich and delicious. It’s cooked perfectly and the vodka sauce is amazing. The appetizers, home brewed beer, and desserts are phenomenal too. Step aside Coopers Hawk, I have a new favorite restaurant!“

“One of my favorite places in Cary. Great owner, super nice and a great business man. I have tried a few different dishes from here and am obsessed with their caprese salad, chopped salad, buffalo chicken wrap, and their cauliflower crust pizza. They have delivery and also pickup. Their fruit when in season is super fresh and I honestly cant even find that fresh at a grocery store. Sometimes I drive 20 minutes to pick up their super fresh caprese salad and fruit side. Definitely recommend giving this place a shot if you haven't already!!! By far one of my favorite go to in Cary!“

“Tonight we went out to eat with 9 people. The food and service were amazing, but that actually isn’t even the reason I’m leaving this review. This is the first time my autistic son has been out to eat for this length of time. I felt this restaurant was super laid back and a great family atmosphere. They have an are with claw machines for the kids to try out and get up while they wait for their food. I feel like there aren’t many restaurants anymore like this and it was a game changer for us. “We love Rosati's of Lakemoor! Their thin crust pizza is delicious, they have great wings, and their salads are large and fresh....all the food we've ordered is really consistent. We especially love their pizza sausage—true Chicago style! We usually don't eat inside the restaurant, but the carry out service and delivery service is always on time. “Sweet Melissa’s seems like a a neighborhood pizza pub. They have outdoor seating. They have what seems like video gaming machines. They offer some specials during the week. The spinach artichoke dip was very good.it was served with warm pita chips. It was creamy and very tasty. The bruschetta was good the only thing I did not like about was the bread toasted. It said it was served on crisp Italian bread but our bread was anything but crisp. It was basically fresh bread top with all the toppings. The toppings were very good but it lack that crunchy bite you normally get. My friend order a large margarita. And we ordered a loaded margarita with extra pepperoni instead of the bacon. I was surprised to see how thin the crust was. It’s almost like a cracker crust. Also surprised to see a margarita. without fresh mozzarella. Except for the very thin crust the toppings on pizza was plentifully. We also ordered a piece of tiramisu since it was my friend’s birthday. The slice was delicious. The three of us actually split the slice since we were too full to have a slice for ourselves. I guess if you like your pizza crust thin this is the place for you. I would come back again to try their other foods. Their menu looks exciting enough to come back.“

“We hosted an end of the season tackle football banquet for 50 people in the party room at JJ Twig’s in Wauconda tonight. Tiffany was a dream to work with — super responsive, accommodating, and had great insight into just how much food to order. The party room was the perfect private venue that allowed our rambunctious group of 10 year old boys some space to roam without disturbing other diners. Food was good — we ordered pizzas, baked mostaccioli, meatballs, chicken tenders and salad. Compared to other local venues we considered, JJ Twig’s is a real value. Along with the good food and great service, JJ Twig’s is the full package!“

“Pizza snob here. I have been a pizza fiend since TMNT in the 80s. It’s not easy to move into my top 5 favorite pizza places and Nancy has moved to my number one favorite pizza!
We get their deep dish with cheese. Yum!! Everything is on point! The sauce has the perfect amount of sweetness and is not too bold. It’s just right. The blend of cheeses they use is perfect.
Now I feel many deep dishes struggle to have a good crust. Sometimes places make it too thick or too crunchy or too dry, and eating the cornicione becomes a chore. But this isn’t the case with Nancy’s.
The pizza is pricey, but check those coupons that come in the mail. Usually there is a coupon for a certain percentage off on Monday and Tuesday .“

“So much fun here. The pool table is only available during the winter, but outside there is a huge bar with lots of friendly people. We played bags with a couple guys who live near there and we had a blast! The bill wasn't big either. $20 for four large Modelos on tap, plus they have a bunch of other IPA's and goodies!“

“have to go with only 4 stars this time. Kind of have a feeling that the server bluffed a bit on the number of canolis in the desert. When asked how many it came with she said only 1. Then when it came it had 2 each. Because she said it only had 1, we both ordered the canoli desert. If she would have stated that it did come with 2, we would have ordered 1 and then had a different dessert. Just a little disappointed.“

“First time here and Cameron was bartending! I came in and ordered a drink that isn’t the normal for most bartenders, wine spritzer! Cameron was super patient and let me talk to him about how to make it and the second round he was like “let me do this to see if it tastes better, and it sure did! His first time he made a better drink than bartenders who’s been at it for 20+ years!! Super sweet, conversation with him was fun, Cameron alone made the experience amazing! “I’m not typically one to issue 5 star reviews. However, Buddy’z was on their A game on the night of 10/16/2025 and helped the wife and I celebrate our anniversary with two very tasty pizzas. We ordered a deep dish and a thin crust, both sausage, for delivery. Both pizzas were fantastic, had plenty of toppings, great taste, and they arrived quickly, despite having ordered a deep dish. It was actually a little nostalgic calling up a pizza place and placing an order. Not like these corporate pizza places that want everything done online via some Terminator on judgement day taking your order. Better yet? The woman who answered the phone knew what she was doing. I didn’t get the person on day 2 that was left alone on her own to hopefully survive.

I worked food service for almost 20 years in pizza so I know that everything just clicked last night. Now the only question that remains is consistency! Keep it up! We will see!

It all just gelled and it helped our anniversary be a great one.

“We were at a food truck event and saw Kurbside Pizza and Panini! When we went to order a delicious sounding panini (Pear and Prosciutto), turns out it was supposed to be a pizza… They wanted to try to make it into a panini as they hadn’t done it before. We were SO GRATEFUL they did because it was one of the most delicious (and beautiful) panini sandwiches we have had! The food ratio of the ingredients was just right, the large panini bread was toasted perfectly and melted as you took a bite—including the crust that is typically very hard from other restaurants. I would have never thought to combine those ingredients together, but the combination was tasty! They used very fresh ingredients as well, including generous slices of the pear. We highly recommend Kurbside Pizza and Panini! PS—how cute is this truck as well with the pizza wings? Amazing experience! 💖“
