“We live 2.5 hours south of Lake Villa, but we were meeting some friends from Florida for dinner. They were in the area for their grandson’s graduation from Great Lakes Naval Academy. Found this place via Google and it had great reviews, with good reason. We wish we lived closer because it would be a favorite for sure. Probably the best bruschetta and lasagna I’ve had in a very long time. Everyone loved their entrees. We tried multiple pasta dishes and the pizza. Prices were very reasonable and our service was exceptional. Excellent dining experience all around. Highly recommend.”

I showed up on Thursday to find out they’ve got an all you can eat taco special 👀 I gotta roll myself out to my car after this. Don’t let the previous rough construction out front fool you, this place is gold. I had the steak and chorizo tacos that were superb. Mango margarita slapped 👏🏻”

“I'm biased in regards to Serve and Swig since my band plays there, but so be it. The bar has been transformed from old Nutties which was a little neighborhood watering hole to a excitingly new establishment. Serve and Swig not only offers top shelf bar service, but quite good appetizers and full meals while wude screen tv's display sporting events and maybe a couple of guitar players singing popular rock songs.
The outdoors offer volleyball leagues and pickleball courts. There is always something fun happening at Serve and Swig!”

“It's been awhile since I was completely blown away by a restaurant. Kathy was our server and was delightful for our entire meal. The restaurant has a wonderful old world feel that puts your body into a total relaxed feeling, the smells, the views of the lake... It's special.

We started with the crab cake and Mexican perogi which were both fantastic and unique compared to basic appetizers at most restaurants.

Then Kathy walked out our dinners, the polish platter is a must, it captures what this restaurant does best, Polish cuisine at its best. My girlfriend ordered the special broccoli and crab stuffed salmon. This thing was huge! Easily the largest salmon filet we've seen.

If you are looking for a good date spot or somewhere to wow your family and friends you have found the place!”

“First time at Oktoberfest. The music was great. Nice people and atmosphere. Parking attendants directing traffic and parking in a grass lot. Everything was purchased through a ticket system. German drinks and tap beers. Festive indoors and out. Thought the food kind of sucked. The pretzels were overcooked and hard to eat. The buns for the bratwurst were really dry. Schnitzel bites didn't look anything like the photo and was basically a few crumbs in a small bowl. The strudel was nice. If I attended again, I think I would eat beforehand. Had a good time for the most part though.”
